Steering Wheel Replacement Opel Agila B

Steering Wheel and Column 2 illustrations ~328 words

Remove

  1. 1. Disconnect battery negative lead • Release nut
  2. 2. Release airbag from steering wheel • Release 2x bolt (1)
  1. 3. Remove airbag from steering wheel • Disconnect harness connector (1) from airbag – Release clip (3) • Disconnect earth lead (2) for horn from airbag
  2. 4. Disconnect harness connector from airbag contact unit
  3. 5. Release steering wheel from steering column • Remove nut
  4. 6. Remove steering wheel from steering column • Use Puller KM-210-3 • Withdraw airbag harness through aperture in steering wheel

Note. Steering wheel should be in the straight ahead position before removing.

  1. 7. Remove cover (2) from rear of steering wheel • Release harness for remote control switch (4) from steering wheel – Release from clip • Remove 2x screw (1), 2x washer, then release 2x clip
  2. 8. Remove blanking cover from steering wheel • Remove screw, then release 2x locator from steering wheel
  3. 9. Remove remote control switch from steering wheel • Remove screw (3), then release 2x locator from steering wheel

Install

  1. 10. Install remote control switch (4) to new steering wheel • Secure 2x locator to steering wheel, then install screw (3)
  2. 11. Install blanking cover to steering wheel • Secure 2x locator to steering wheel, then install screw
  3. 12. Install cover (2) to rear of steering wheel • Secure 2x clip, then install 2x washer, 2x screw (1) • Secure harness for remote control switch to steering wheel – Secure to clip
  4. 13. Install steering wheel to steering column • Feed airbag harness through aperture in steering wheel • Install new nut 33 Nm
  5. 14. Connect harness connector to airbag contact unit
  1. 15. Install airbag to steering wheel • Connect earth lead (2) for horn to airbag • Connect harness connector (1) to airbag – Secure clip (3)
  2. 16. Secure airbag to steering wheel • Secure 2x bolt (1) 9 Nm
  1. 17. Connect battery negative lead
  2. 18. Program all volatile memories – see operation “Program Volatile Memories”
