ENGINE COOLANT: System Inspection
| WARNING | Never remove the radiator/reservoir cap when the engine is hot. Serious burns could occur from high pressure fluid escaping from the radiator or reservoir. Wrap a thick cloth around the cap. Slowly push down and turn it a quarter turn to allow built-up pressure to escape. Carefully remove the cap by pushing down and turning it all the way. |
INSPECTION AFTER INSTALLATION
- Check the engine oil level. Refer to " «ENGINE OIL: INSPECTION»(ref-519787-S01204867292012122900000) ".
- Start the engine and check for engine oil leaks.
- Stop the engine and wait for 10 minutes.
- Check the engine oil level and add engine oil as required.

- Remove ignition coil. Refer to " «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-519775-S25306077372012122900000) ".
- Remove spark plug using suitable tool. CAUTION: Do not drop or shock it.
Scheme 3
- Do not use a wire brush for cleaning.
- If the spark plug tip is covered with carbon, a spark plug cleaner may be used.
Cleaner air pressure: Less than 588 kPa (6 kg/cm 2 , 85 psi)
Cleaning time: Less than 20 seconds
- Checking and adjusting spark plug gap is not required between change intervals.

TRANSFER FLUID: Inspection
| CAUTION | If using the vehicle for towing, the transfer fluid must be replaced as specified. Refer to " FOR USA AND CANADA: INTRODUCTION TO PERIODIC MAINTENANCE " (United Sates and Canada) or " FOR MEXICO: PERIODIC MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE " (Mexico). |
FLUID LEAKAGE AND FLUID LEVEL
- Make sure that fluid is not leaking from the transfer assembly or around it.
- Check fluid level from the filler plug hole as shown in illustration below. CAUTION: Do not start engine while checking fluid level.
- Install the filler plug with a new gasket to the transfer. Tighten to the specified torque. Refer to " «DISASSEMBLY AND ASSEMBLY»(ref-519796-S10368058972012122900000) ".
