REMOTE CONTROLLED MIRROR

The mirror on the door mirror moves up/down and left/right by operating the remote controlled door mirror switch when the ignition switch is in the "ON" or "ACC" position.

Step 1: Check The Defogger

  1. Ignition switch: ON
  2. Defogger switch: ON

Does the defogger work normally?

  1. YES Go to step «2»(ref-169853-S16753705482004121600000) .
  2. NO Malfunction of the defogger. See «DEFOGGERS»(ref-158784-S05853738082003102100000) .

Step 3: Check The Remote Controlled Mirror (RH) Connector E-20 And Junction Block Connector C-214 For Loose, Corroded Or Damaged Terminals, Or Terminals Pushed Back In The Connector

Are the remote controlled mirror (RH) connector E-20 and junction block connector C-214 in good condition? (Scheme 12)

  1. YES Go to step «4»(ref-169853-S10810385002004121600000) .
  2. NO Repair or replace the damaged component(s). Check if the door mirror heater function (heated door mirrors) works normally.

Step 2: Check The Heated Door Mirror (LH)

CAUTIONWhen relocating the car between locations with extremely different temperatures (warm and cold), leave the car in the location for a while to adapt to the temperature prior to checking it.

The resistance value between door mirror (LH) connector terminals No. 1 and 4 should meet the standard value with the ambient temperature at a steady 25°C (77°F). Standard value: 5.9 - 7.8 ohms. (Scheme 13)

Is the heater function (heated door mirror) of the door mirror normal?

  1. YES Go to step «3»(ref-169853-S41885149102004121600000) .
  2. NO Replace the door mirror (LH). Check to see that the heater function (heated door mirror) of the door mirror (LH) is operating normally.

Step 3: Check The Ground Circuit To The Door Mirror (LH)

Test at remote controlled mirror (LH) connector E-19.

  1. Disconnect remote controlled mirror (LH) connector E-19 and measure the resistance available at the wiring harness side of the connector.
  2. Measure the resistance value between terminal No. 4 and ground. (Scheme 14) The resistance should be 2 ohms or less.

Is the measured resistance 2 ohms or less?

  1. YES Go to step «6»(ref-169853-S16173131162004121600000) .
  2. NO Go to step «4»(ref-169853-S27857273302004121600000) .

Step 4: Check The Remote Controlled Mirror (LH) Connector E-19 For Loose, Corroded Or Damaged Terminals, Or Terminals Pushed Back In The Connector

Is the remote controlled mirror (LH) connector E-19 in good condition?

  1. YES Go to step «5»(ref-169853-S37883128322004121600000) .
  2. NO Repair or replace the damaged component(s). Check to see that the heater function (heated door mirror) of the door mirror (LH) operates normally.

Step 6: Check The Remote Controlled Mirror (LH) Connector E-19 For Loose, Corroded Or Damaged Terminals, Or Terminals Pushed Back In The Connector

Is the remote controlled mirror (LH) connector E-19 in good condition?

  1. YES Go to step «7»(ref-169853-S42549833512004121600000) .
  2. NO Repair or replace the damaged component(s). Check to see that the heater function (heated door mirror) of the door mirror (LH) operates normally.

Step 8: Check The Heated Door Mirror (RH)

CAUTIONWhen relocating the car between locations with extremely different temperatures (warm and cold), leave the car in the location for a while to adapt to the temperature prior to checking it.

The resistance value between door mirror (RH) connector terminals No. 1 and 4 should meet the standard value with the ambient temperature at a steady 25°C (77°F). Standard value: 5.9 - 7.8 ohms.

Is the heater function (heated door mirror) of the door mirror normal?

  1. YES Go to step «9»(ref-169853-S30257275722004121600000) .
  2. NO Replace the door mirror (RH). Check to see that the heater function (heated door mirror) of the door mirror (RH) operates normally.

Step 9: Check The Ground Circuit To The Door Mirror (RH)

Test at the remote controlled mirror (RH) connector E-20.

  1. Disconnect the remote controlled mirror (RH) connector E- 20 and measure the resistance available at the wiring harness side of the connector.
  2. Measure the resistance value between terminal No. 4 and ground. (Scheme 15) The resistance should equal 2 ohms or less.

Is the measured resistance 2 ohms or less?

  1. YES No action is necessary and testing is complete.
  2. NO Go to step «12»(ref-169853-S07531416362004121600000) .
