DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART

TROUBLE JUDGEMENT

When the hazard warning light fuse is blown, the ETACS-ECU sets the DTC B16A6.

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION (COMMENT)

With the DTC not set, when the blown fuse of hazard warning light is detected three times consecutively, the ETACS-ECU sets the DTC B16A3.

TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS

  1. The wiring harness or connectors may have loose, corroded, or damaged terminals, or terminals pushed back in the connector
  2. Malfunction of the ETACS-ECU

DIAGNOSIS

Required Special Tools

  1. MB991958: Scan Tool (M.U.T.-III Sub Assembly) MB991824: Vehicle Communication Interface (V.C.I.) MB991827: M.U.T.-III USB Cable MB991910: M.U.T.-III Main Harness A (Vehicles with CAN communication system)
  1. STEP 1. Fuse check Check if the turn-signal light fuse is normal. Q: Is the check result normal? YES: Go to Step 2. NO: Replace the turn-signal light fuse.
  2. STEP 2. Using scan tool MB991958, Check whether the diagnostic trouble code is reset. CAUTION: To prevent damage to scan tool MB991958, always turn the ignition switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position before connecting or disconnecting scan tool MB991958. Connect scan tool MB991958. Refer to " «HOW TO CONNECT SCAN TOOL»(/mitsubishi/lancer-evolution/x-2007-2016/remont/steering-column-switches/#hazard-warning-light-switch-except-lancer-evolution__how-to-connect-the-scan-tool) ." Turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position. Erase the DTC. Turn the ignition switch from "LOCK" (OFF) position to "ON" position. Check if DTC is set. Q: Is the DTC set? YES: Replace the ETACS-ECU.
