REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

WARNINGBefore removing the steering wheel, air bag module assembly and clock spring refer to SERVICE PRECAUTIONS and AIR BAG MODULE AND CLOCK SPRING . When removing and installing the steering wheel, do not let it bump against the air bag module.
CAUTIONWhen the steering lock cylinder is replaced, register the encrypted code. Refer to ENCRYPTED CODE REGISTRATION CRITERIA TABLE .

Scheme 214: << A >> STEERING LOCK CYLINDER REMOVAL
  1. Insert the key in the steering lock cylinder and turn it to the "ACC" position.
  2. Using a small Phillips head screwdriver, depress lock pin and pull the steering lock cylinder toward you.
CAUTIONWhen the ETACS-ECU is replaced, register the encrypted code. Refer to HOW TO REGISTER SECRET CODE .
