DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE MEMORY (SECTION 11)
| CAUTION | On vehicles with ME-SFI, the Base Module (N16/1) is not equipped with DTC memory. DTC's can only be retrieved by performing SYSTEM TESTS . |
Note. Diagnostic trouble codes can be retrieved from many different modules. Codes and testing listed in this article are for codes retrieved from the base module.
Test Preparation For DTC Readout
- Connect impulse counter scan tool and adapter or HHT to data link connector (X11/4). (Scheme 140)
- Connect Yellow wire from impulse counter scan tool as follows: Socket 8 Base Module - BM (N16/1) Socket 6 ABS or ASR control module (N30 or N30/1) Socket 12 SPS control module (N49/1) Socket 11 ADS control module (N51) Socket 4 HFM-SFI control module (N3/4)
- Turn ignition ON.
- Read DTC memory for BM, ABS, ABS/ASR, SPS, ADS, HFM-SFI control modules.

CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES
Connect Hand-Held Tester (965 589 00 01 00) to Data Link Connector. DLC is located under left side of instrument panel. Following manufacturer's instructions, clear diagnostic trouble codes.
