1. When the customer reports a vehicle malfunction, check the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) indication, O/D OFF indicator light flashing, and TCM memory for diagnostic trouble code (DTC), then diagnose the malfunction according to the following flowchart. If a DTC exists, diagnose the applicable DTC. (See «DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES TABLE».) If not DTC exists, MIL does not illuminate, and O/D OFF indicator light flashes, diagnose the applicable symptom troubleshooting.
