Torque Converter Clutch Control Solenoid Valve

Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) control solenoid valve is an on/off type solenoid controlled by PCM. Solenoid regulates line pressure to TCC shift valve. When TCC control solenoid is off (normally closed), line pressure in TCC control circuit is not drained. This causes TCC shift valve to move into position to allow hydraulic pressure to flow to torque converter front chamber to disable TCC engagement. When TCC control solenoid is on, line pressure to TCC shift valve is drained, shift valve spring pressure causes TCC shift valve to move into position to drain hydraulic pressure to torque converter front chamber, allowing TCC engagement.
