- Blow through A and verify that air flows from B.
- Blow through B and verify that air does not flow from A. If not as specified, replace the VAD check valve (one-way). (Scheme 268): Identifying VAD Check Valve (One-Way)

- Inspect airflow between the ports under the following conditions. If not as specified, replace the Variable intake air solenoid valve. Open circuit
- If there is no continuity, there is an open circuit. Repair or replace the harness. Variable intake air solenoid valve terminal B and PCM terminal 2J Variable intake air solenoid valve terminal A and main relay terminal C
- If there is continuity, there is a short circuit. Repair or replace the harness. Variable intake air solenoid valve terminal B and body GND Variable intake air solenoid valve terminal A and power supply

- Disconnect the vacuum hose from the Variable intake air solenoid valve.
- Connect a vacuum pump to the Variable intake air shutter valve actuator.
