- When the customer reports a vehicle malfunction, check the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL), AT warning light illuminating, and TCM memory for diagnostic trouble code (DTC), then diagnose the malfunction according to following flowchart in (Scheme 395). If a DTC exists, diagnose the applicable DTC. (See «DTC TABLE [FN4A-EL]».) If a DTC does not exist, and the MIL and AT warning lights do not illuminate, diagnose the applicable symptom troubleshooting.
