- If the malfunction does not recur, verify the malfunction cause by performing the following actions: Based on the repair order form, attempt to drive the vehicle or perform tests to replicate the malfunction, record the data (such as BCM circuit voltage) at that time, and detect the malfunction cause. Shake the wiring harness or connector of the electrical component which is suspected to be the cause of the malfunction, and inspect for malfunction or occurrence of any DTCs. (Scheme 35): Shaking Wiring Harness Or Connector Of Electrical Component Inspect the female terminals on the connector of the electric component which is suspected to be the cause of the malfunction for poor connection. (Scheme 36): Inspecting Female Terminals On Connector Of Electric Component

- Connect the M-MDS (IDS) to the DLC-2. (Scheme 37): Identifying DLC-2 Location
- Verify the following vehicle conditions: All the switches are turned off (except the ignition switch). All the doors, hood, and trunk (4SD)/liftgate (5HB) are closed. All the doors, and trunk (4SD)/liftgate (5HB) are unlocked. All the seat belts are unbuckled. Parking brake lever is pulled.
- After the vehicle is identified, select the following items from the initialization screen of the IDS. Select "Self Test". Select "Modules". Select "BCM/GEM".
- Verify the DTC according to the directions on the screen. If any DTCs are displayed, perform troubleshooting according to the corresponding DTC inspection.
- After completion of repairs, clear all DTCs stored in the BCM. (See «CLEARING DTC [BCM]»(ref-579384-S03398474482013100700000).)
CLEARING DTCS [BCM]
- Connect the M-MDS (IDS) to the DLC-2. see scheme 9: Identifying DLC-2 Location
- After the vehicle is identified, select the following items from the initialization screen of the IDS. Select "Self Test". Select "Modules". Select "BCM/GEM".
- Verify the DTC according to the directions on the screen.
- Press the clear button on the DTC screen to clear the DTC.
- Switch the ignition to off.
- Switch the ignition to ON and wait for 5 s or more.
- Perform DTC inspection. (See «DTC INSPECTION [BCM]»(ref-579384-S41521314722013100700000).)
- Verify that no DTCs are displayed.
