This DTC is stored when the hard disc which is built into the multi-media module receiver assembly has an initialization malfunction or read/write errors occur more than a specified number of times.

The multi-media module receiver assembly receives a vehicle speed signal from the combination meter assembly and information from the navigation antenna, and then adjusts the vehicle position on the map. The multi-media module receiver assembly stores this DTC when the difference between the speed information that the navigation antenna assembly receives and the SPD pulse received from the combination meter assembly becomes large.

HINT

  1. A voltage of 12 V or 5 V is output from each ECU and then input to the combination meter assembly. The signal is changed to a pulse signal at the transistor in the combination meter assembly. Each ECU controls the respective systems based on the pulse signal.
  2. If a short occurs in any of the ECUs or in the wire harness connected to an ECU, all systems in the diagram below will not operate normally.

This DTC is stored when the MOST network cannot be established after the master unit is activated.

HINT

  1. If a short occurs in a speaker circuit, the sound from the corresponding speaker will be low or almost impossible to hear. If the volume is turned up in this situation, to prevent excessive current flow due to the short circuit, the stereo component amplifier assembly stops operating when its output exceeds a certain level. When the operation of the stereo component amplifier assembly stops, the audio and visual system will not function normally. This is because MOST communication will stop due to the shut down of the amplifier causing an error in the MOST network. The stereo component amplifier assembly will start operating again when the engine switch is turned off and back on (ACC) again. However, the amplifier will stop operating again if its output exceeds a certain level.
  2. When the stereo component amplifier assembly stops operating and a malfunction occurs in the audio and visual system due to a short in a speaker circuit, this DTC will be stored.

These DTCs are stored when the temperature is higher or lower than the operation range of the hard disc built into the multi-media module receiver assembly, and hard disk drive read/write errors occur more than a specified number of times.

HINT

The hard disk drive may not operate normally when the temperature is -20°C (-4°F) or lower, or 65°C (149°F) or higher.

The multi-media module receiver assembly receives a vehicle speed signal from the combination meter assembly for DVD viewing restriction while driving, parallel parking mode of the parking assist monitor system, etc.

HINT

  1. A voltage of 12 V or 5 V is output from each ECU and then input to the combination meter assembly. The signal is changed to a pulse signal at the transistor in the combination meter assembly. Each ECU controls the respective system based on the pulse signal.
  2. If a short occurs in any of the ECUs or in the wire harness connected to an ECU, all systems in the following diagram will not operate normally.

This circuit sends an operation signal from the steering pad switch assembly to the multi-media module receiver assembly.

If there is an open in the circuit, the audio system cannot be operated using the steering pad switch assembly.

If there is a short in the circuit, the same condition as when a switch is continuously depressed occurs.

Therefore, the multi-media module receiver assembly cannot be operated using the steering pad switch assembly, and also the multi-media module receiver assembly itself cannot function.

The sound signal that has been sent is amplified by the stereo component amplifier assembly, and then is sent to the speakers.

If there is an open or short in the circuit, sound cannot be heard from the speakers even if there is no malfunction in the stereo component amplifier assembly, multi-media module receiver assembly or speakers.

The No. 1 stereo jack adapter assembly sends the sound signal from an external device to the multi-media module receiver assembly through this circuit.

The sound signal that has been sent is amplified by the stereo component amplifier assembly or multi-media module receiver assembly, and then is sent to the speakers.

If there is an open or short in the circuit, sound cannot be heard from the speakers even if there is no malfunction in the stereo component amplifier assembly, multi-media module receiver assembly or speakers.

Each audio system component connected to the AVC-LAN (communication bus) transfers switch signals using the audio visual communication local area network.

If a short to +B or short to ground occurs in the AVC-LAN, the audio system will not function normally because communication is not possible.

The circuit is necessary for the Automatic Sound Levelizer (ASL) built into the stereo component amplifier assembly.

Speed signals are received from the combination meter assembly and used for the ASL.

The ASL function automatically adjusts the sound volume in order to clear audio quality even when vehicle noise increases (as vehicle noise increases, the volume is turned up etc.).

The display image signal from the multi-media module receiver assembly is sent to the multi-display assembly using a digital communication cable.

  1. The multi-media module receiver assembly and map light assembly (telephone microphone assembly) are connected to each other using the microphone connection detection signal lines.
  2. Using this circuit, the multi-media module receiver assembly sends power to the map light assembly (telephone microphone assembly), and the map light assembly (telephone microphone assembly) sends microphone signals to the multi-media module receiver assembly (w/o Manual [SOS] Switch).
  3. Using this circuit, the DCM (telematics transceiver) sends power to the map light assembly (telephone microphone assembly), and the map light assembly (telephone microphone assembly) sends microphone signals to the multi-media module receiver assembly via the DCM (telematics transceiver) (w/ Manual [SOS] Switch).

The multi-media module receiver assembly sends a visual mute signal to the multi-display assembly. As a result, a black screen is inserted when the screen changes so that noise and distorted images are not displayed.

When an open exists in the circuit, noise and distorted images will be displayed instead of a black screen.

When a short exists in the circuit, even though the multi-display assembly is operating normally, noise and distorted images will be displayed (black screen will not be displayed) during screen changes or the black screen will always be displayed.
