PROCEDURE

  2. INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE Inspect the battery voltage. Standard Voltage 11 to 14 V If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding to the next step. Check the fuses and relays. Check the connector connections and terminals to make sure that there are no abnormalities such as loose connections, deformation, etc. Using the Techstream, check the Data List item "Operation Limitation Control History Count". Refer to «DATA LIST/ACTIVE TEST [04/2013 - ]»(ref-665545-S37846613682014102400000) Body Electrical > Air Conditioner > Data List Tester Display Operation Limitation Control History Count (Level1) Operation Limitation Control History Count (Level2) HINT: If a value other than zero is displayed for "Operation Limitation Control History Count (Level1)" or "Operation Limitation Control History Count (Level2)", PTC heater operation may have been limited in the past. If the operation is still limited, the message "Operation of Electrical Items Restricted." will be displayed on the multi-information display in the combination meter assembly.   3. CHECK COMMUNICATION FUNCTION OF CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM* Using the Techstream, check for CAN communication system DTCs.   4. CHECK FOR DTC* Check for DTCs and note any codes that are output. Based on the DTCs output above, try to force output of the air conditioning system DTC by simulating the operation indicated by the DTC. CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS [04/2013 - ]

  1. CUSTOMIZE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM Customizing with the Techstream. NOTE: When the customer requests a change in a function, first make sure that the function can be customized. Be sure to make a note of the current settings before customizing. When troubleshooting a function, first make sure that the function is set to the default setting. HINT: The following items can be customized. Connect the Techstream. Turn the engine switch on (IG). Turn the Techstream on. Enter the following menus: Customize Setting / Air Conditioner. Select the setting by referring to the table below. Air Conditioner Tester Display Description Default Setting ECU Set Temperature Shift Function to perform control with the shifted temperature versus the displayed temperature Normal 00001:-2C, 00010:-1C, 00100:Normal, 01000:+1C, 10000:+2C Air conditioning amplifier assembly Evaporator Control Function to set the evaporator control to the automatic position (AUTO) to save power or to the coldest position (MANUAL) to dehumidify the air and to prevent the windows from fogging up Automatic 0:Automatic, 1:Manual Air conditioning amplifier assembly Compressor Mode Function to turn the A/C on automatically by pressing the AUTO button when the blower is on and the A/C is off Automatic 0:Automatic, 1:Manual Air conditioning amplifier assembly Foot/DEF Auto Mode Function to turn the airflow to foot/defroster automatically when AUTO mode is on ON 0:ON, 1:OFF Air conditioning amplifier assembly Foot/DEF Automatic Blow Up Function Function to increase the blower level automatically when the defroster is on ON 0:ON, 1:OFF Air conditioning amplifier assembly Ambient Temperature Shift Function to display the shifted ambient temperature versus the actual ambient temperature Normal 0000001:-3C, 0000010:-2C, 0000100:-1C, 0001000:Normal, 0010000:+1C, 0100000:+2C, 1000000:+3C Air conditioning amplifier assembly Add Foot Air in FACE Mode When FACE mode is selected, additional air is blown to the foot area. INITIALIZATION [04/2013 - ]

  1. INITIALIZATION SERVO MOTOR Turn the engine switch off. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the engine switch on (IG). Press the A/C OFF switch. Turn the Techstream on. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Air Conditioner / Utility / Servomotor Initialization. According to the Techstream display, perform servo motor initialization. Body Electrical > Air Conditioner > Utility Tester Display Servomotor Initialization HINT: During initialization, the AUTO indicator light comes on, and then goes off when initialization has finished. According to the Techstream display, select the Exit switch to finish initialization.
