  1. POWER WINDOW CONTROL SYSTEM PRECAUTIONS WARNING: The power window control system prohibits the AUTO UP/DOWN function when the jam protection function malfunctions. Therefore, troubleshoot the power window control system after confirming that no diagnostic codes are displayed. When the power window regulator or the power window regulator motor assembly is replaced, the power window control system must be initialized. After a door glass or a door glass run has been replaced, the jam protection function may operate unexpectedly when the AUTO UP function is used. In such cases, the AUTO UP function can be reinitialized by repeating the following operation at least 5 times: Close the power window by fully pulling up the power window switch and holding it at the AUTO UP position. Open the power window by fully pushing down the power window switch. The jam protection function may operate unexpectedly even when the power window control system is normal due to detection of a different operation learned value when the door glass moving speed changes sharply under any of the following conditions: A power window being opened or closed while the vehicle is driving on a rough road. A power window being opened or closed while the door is being opened or closed. A sharp voltage change. NOTE: Do not disconnect the battery while the power switch is on (IG). Otherwise, DTC B2311 will be output.

CUSTOMIZE PARAMETERS

  1. CUSTOMIZING FUNCTION WITH TECHSTREAM (REFERENCE) HINT: The following items can be customized. NOTE: When the customer requests a change in a function, first make sure the function(s) can be customized. Be sure to make notes of the current settings before customizing. When troubleshooting a function, first make sure that the function is set to the default setting. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the power switch on (IG). Turn the Techstream on. Enter the following menus: Customize Setting / Power Window. Select the setting by referring to the table below. POWER WINDOW Tester Display Default Contents Setting Door Key Linked P/W Up ON Function that raises all engine windows when, with power switch off, key is used to hold driver door key cylinder to lock position for more than 2.3 seconds ON/OFF Door Key Linked P/W Down ON Function that lowers all engine windows when, with power switch off, key is used to hold driver door key cylinder to unlock position for more than 2.3 seconds ON/OFF P/W Down w/ Transmitter ON Function that lowers all engine windows when, with power switch off, unlock switch on transmitter is pressed and held for more than 3.0 seconds ON/OFF

INITIALIZATION

  1. INITIALIZE POWER WINDOW CONTROL SYSTEM (POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR (ALL DOORS)) WARNING: When the power window regulator motor is reinstalled or replaced, the power window control system must be initialized. Functions such as the auto up/down, jam protection and key-off do not operate if the initialization is not performed. HINT: When the battery is replaced, it is not necessary to initialize the power window regulator motor. NOTE: When the power window regulator motor is replaced, DTC B2313 is output. Clear the DTC after the initialization. When performing initialization, do not perform any other procedures. After a door glass or a door glass run has been replaced, the jam protection function may operate unexpectedly when the auto up function is used, due to detection of a value different from the operation learned value of the door glass movement speed. In such cases, the auto up function can be resumed by repeating the following operation at least 5 times: Open the power window by fully pushing down the power window switch. Close the power window by fully pulling up the power window switch and holding it at the auto up position. If the initialization is not completed properly, the LIN communication line may have a malfunction. If the initialization is not completed properly, the BEAN communication system may have a malfunction. Refer to «HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING»(ref-386979-S20279454612011022400000) . Initialization procedures when replacing the power window regulator motor with a new one: Connect the battery and turn the power switch on (IG) (at this time, the LED on the power window switch blinks to indicate that it is ready for initialization). Fully open the window by fully pushing the power window switch, and hold the switch for 1 second or more after the window is fully opened. Fully close the power window by fully pulling the power window switch, and hold the switch for 1 second or more after the window is fully closed to reset the glass position. The LED on the power window switch stops blinking and illuminates to indicate that initialization is complete. Initialization procedures when removing/installing the power window regulator motor: Connect the battery and turn the power switch on (IG). Fully close the power window by fully pulling the power window switch, and hold the switch for 6 seconds or more after the window is fully closed (if the power window does not move or stops halfway even when the switch is fully pulled, release the switch and fully pull it again). Fully open the window by pushing down the power window switch, and hold the switch for 1 second or more after the window is fully opened. Release the power window switch. Then fully push and hold the switch for 4 seconds or more. Fully close the power window by fully pulling the power window switch, and hold the switch for 1 second or more after the window is fully closed to reset the glass position and complete initialization. Initialization procedures when the power window does not fully open: Connect the battery and turn the power switch on (IG).

FAIL-SAFE CHART

  1. POWER WINDOW OPERATION IN FAIL-SAFE MODE HINT: If the pulse sensor built into the power window regulator motor (on the driver side) malfunctions, the power window control system enters fail-safe mode. Fail Mode Fail Detection Condition Pulse direction error With the door glass going up or down, the pulse that indicates door glass operation in the opposite direction is detected for 4 seconds. Pulse stop error With the door glass going up or down, no pulse is detected for 3.5 to 4.5 seconds. The power window control system prohibits the following power window operation when the pulse sensor for the jam protection function has problems and the window position or the learned value is abnormal. POWER WINDOW CONTROL SYSTEM Power Window Operation Power Switch on (IG) Key-off (Within approx. 45 seconds after power switch turned off) Key-off (After approx. 45 seconds elapsed after power switch turned off) Manual UP Operation prohibited Operation prohibited Operation prohibited Manual DOWN Operative (Jam protection not operative) Operation prohibited Operation prohibited AUTO UP (hold switch at AUTO UP position) Operative (in MANUAL mode) (Jam protection not operative) Operation prohibited Operation prohibited AUTO UP Operation prohibited Operation prohibited Operation prohibited AUTO DOWN Operation prohibited Operation prohibited Operation prohibited HINT: When the pulse sensor is normal, the AUTO UP/DOWN function can be resumed by deactivating fail-safe mode. To deactivate fail-safe mode, pull up the driver door power window switch to the AUTO UP position and hold it for at least 1 second to fully close the window from the fully open position. If the LIN communication system malfunctions (communication blackout), the power window control system prohibits the following operations.
