DESCRIPTION

The rear active stabilizer control actuator consists of the rotation angle sensor, relay, motor and other parts. If a problem related to the rotation angle sensor or actuator drive function of the rear active stabilizer control actuator or rear active stabilizer control ECU occurs, the DTCs below are output. DTC C1951 is output during Test Mode.

  1. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION Turn the power switch off. Inspect the condition of the connector terminal. OK Connector and terminal are not deformed or damaged. Terminal is not loose or corroded. OK --> See step 3 NG: Go to next step
  2. CHECK FOR DTC Repair the connector or terminal. Check for DTC. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-386966-S21674868462011022400000) . RESULT Result Proceed to DTC is output A DTC is not output B B --> END A: Go to next step
  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR ACTIVE STABILIZER CONTROL ECU - REAR ACTIVE STABILIZER CONTROL ACTUATOR) Turn the power switch off. Disconnect the z20 and z21 rear active stabilizer control ECU connector. Disconnect the C rear active stabilizer control actuator (rotation angle sensor) connector. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below. The rear active stabilizer control ECU and front active stabilizer control ECU use CAN communication to perform a mutual system check. If a problem occurs in the rear active stabilizer control ECU, rear active stabilizer control actuator, and PIG power source circuit, DTCs C1905, C1911, C1923 and C1924 are recorded.

  1. INSPECT FUSE (STB RR) Remove the STB RR H-fuse from the luggage room No. 6 relay block. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.   1. INSPECT MULTI-INFORMATION DISPLAY Turn the power switch ON (IG). Check if the multi-information display can display continuously for 30 minutes or more. RESULT Result Proceed to Displays for 30 minutes or more A Display turns off within 30 minutes B B --> See step 3 A: Go to next step
  2. INSPECT SURROUNDING CONDITIONS (AMBIENT TEMPERATURE) Confirm the temperature around the rear active stabilizer control ECU. HINT: If there are factors causing a high temperature in the rear active stabilizer control ECU, eliminate those factors, wait for the ECU to cool down, and recheck for the DTC. RESULT Result Proceed to Factors causing high temperatures A No factors causing high temperatures B A --> ELIMINATE FACTORS CAUSING HIGH TEMPERATURES B: Go to next step
  3. CHECK OPERATION OF REAR ACTIVE STABILIZER CONTROL ECU Turn the power switch OFF. Exchange the rear active stabilizer control ECU with the front active stabilizer ECU. The active stabilizer converter supplies operating power to the rear active stabilizer control ECU from the rear active stabilizer control actuator. Also, when the battery (for active stabilizer) voltage is low, the active stabilizer converter charges it. If a problem occurs in the rear active stabilizer control ECU, rear active stabilizer control actuator, battery (for active stabilizer) and PIG power source circuit, DTCs C1913, C1915 and C1928 are stored.

  1. INSPECT SURROUNDING CONDITIONS (AMBIENT TEMPERATURE) Check the ambient temperature of the active stabilizer converter. OK No factors causing high temperatures HINT: If there are any factors causing high temperatures, excluding parts of the active stabilizer, eliminate them. After eliminating them, allow the active stabilizer to cool down and recheck for a DTC. NG --> ELIMINATE FACTORS CAUSING HIGH TEMPERATURES OK: Go to next step
  2. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (REAR ACTIVE STABILIZER CONTROL ECU - ACTIVE STABILIZER CONVERTER) Disconnect the y1 rear active stabilizer control ECU connector. Disconnect the y4 active stabilizer converter connector. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.   4. INSPECT BATTERY (for Active Stabilizer) Wait 10 minutes after stopping the engine. Inspect the voltage of the battery terminals. Standard voltage 12.4 V or higher HINT: If the result is not as specified, charge the battery, wait 10 minutes or more and inspect the voltage of the battery terminals again. NOTE: The terminals of the battery must be connected correctly when replacing the battery. If the battery terminals are connected incorrectly (positive and negative terminals connected in reverse), replace the active stabilizer converter and STB DC/DC fuse with new ones. NG --> REPLACE BATTERY (for Active Stabilizer) OK: Go to next step
  5. INSPECT FUSE (STB RR) Remove the STB RR H-fuse from the luggage room No. 6 relay block. Measure the resistance of the H-fuse. Standard resistance Below 1 ohms HINT: When a fuse burns out during installation, there may be a power source-related short. NG --> REPLACE FUSE OK: Go to next step
  6. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (RELAY BLOCK - BATTERY) Remove the rear active stabilizer relay from the luggage room No. 6 relay block. Measure the voltage of the relay block.   13. CHECK OPERATION OF REAR ACTIVE STABILIZER CONTROL ECU Turn the power switch OFF. Exchange the rear active stabilizer control ECU with the front active stabilizer control ECU. Connect Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the power switch ON (IG) and press the Techstream main switch ON. Clear the DTC. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-386966-S21674868462011022400000) . If a problem occurs in the front active stabilizer control ECU and PIG power source circuit, DTCs C1930, C1931, C1932, C1933, C1936, C1937, C1938 and C193A are stored.

  1. INSPECT FUSE (STB FR) Remove the STB FR H-fuse from the luggage room No. 6 relay block. Measure the resistance of the H-fuse. Standard resistance Below 1 ohms HINT: When a fuse burns out during installation, there may be a power source-related short. NG --> REPLACE FUSE OK: Go to next step
  2. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (RELAY BLOCK - BATTERY) Remove the front active stabilizer relay from the luggage room No. 6 relay block. Measure the voltage of the relay block. Standard voltage Tester Connection Specified Condition Relay block front active stabilizer relay terminal 3 - Body ground 10 to 14 V NG --> REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR OK: Go to next step
  3. INSPECT FRONT ACTIVE STABILIZER RELAY (Marking: STB FR) Remove the front active stabilizer relay from the luggage room No. 6 relay block. Measure the resistance of the relay. Standard resistance Tester Connection Specified Condition 3 - 5 10 kohms or higher 3 - 5 Below 1 ohms (when battery voltage is applied to terminals 1 and 2) NG --> REPLACE FRONT ACTIVE STABILIZER RELAY OK: Go to next step
  4. INSPECT REAR ACTIVE STABILIZER RELAY (Marking: STB RR) Remove the rear active stabilizer relay from the luggage room No. 6 relay block. Measure the resistance of the relay. Standard resistance Tester Connection Specified Condition 3 - 5 10 kohms or higher 3 - 5 Below 1 ohms (when battery voltage is applied to terminals 1 and 2) NG --> REPLACE REAR ACTIVE STABILIZER RELAY OK: Go to next step
  5. CHECK ACTIVE STABILIZER RELAY CIRCUIT Remove the front and rear active stabilizer relays from the luggage room No. 6 relay block. Measure the resistance of the relay block. Remove the front active stabilizer relay from the luggage room No. 6 relay block. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors. Remove the rear active stabilizer relay from the luggage room No. 6 relay block. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors. Standard resistance Tester Connection Specified Condition y1- 6 (MRH) - Relay block rear active stabilizer relay terminal 1 Below 1 ohms y1-6 (MRH) or Relay block rear active stabilizer relay terminal 1 - Body ground 10 kohms or higher NG --> REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR OK: Go to next step
  8. CHECK OPERATION OF FRONT ACTIVE STABILIZER CONTROL ECU Turn the power switch OFF. Exchange the rear active stabilizer control ECU with the front active stabilizer control ECU. Connect Techstream to the DLC3. Turn the power switch ON (IG) and press the Techstream main switch ON. Clear the DTC. Refer to «DTC CHECK / CLEAR»(ref-386966-S21674868462011022400000) . Check for DTC. The active stabilizer converter supplies operating power to the front active stabilizer control ECU from the front active stabilizer control actuator. Also, when the battery (for active stabilizer) voltage is low, the active stabilizer converter charges it. If a problem occurs in the front active stabilizer control ECU, active stabilizer converter, battery (for active stabilizer) and PIG power source circuit, DTCs C1939 and C193C are stored.

The active stabilizer suspension system uses CAN communication to gather information necessary for control functions. If a problem occurs in the CAN communication system, DTC C193E is stored.

The active stabilizer suspension system uses CAN communication to gather information necessary for control functions. When a system's signal is disrupted, DTCs U0122, U0123, U0126, U0130, U0132 and U0293 are output.
