This prevents the engine from starting while the steering is locked. After completing repairs, confirm that the problem does not recur.

- When the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) is replaced with a new one and the cable is connected to the negative (-) battery terminal, the power source mode changes to on (IG).

- CHECK WAVE ENVIRONMENT If the problem occurs in certain locations or times of day, the possibility of wave interference is high. - CHECK ENGINE SWITCH CONDITION Get into the vehicle while carrying an electrical key transmitter sub-assembly. Move the shift lever to P. With the brake pedal released, check that pressing the engine switch causes the power source mode to change. Note. When using the Techstream with the vehicle engine switch off, connect the Techstream to the vehicle and turn a courtesy light switch on and off at intervals of 1.5 seconds or less until communication between the Techstream and the vehicle begins. Then select the vehicle type under manual mode and enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Smart Access. While using the Techstream, periodically turn a courtesy light switch on and off at intervals of 1.5 seconds or less to maintain communication between the Techstream and the vehicle. The smart access system with push-button start (for Start Function) uses the LIN communication system and the CAN communication system. Inspect the communication function by following How to Proceed with Troubleshooting. Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [06/2012 - ] . Troubleshoot the smart access system with push-button start (for Start Function) after confirming that the communication systems are functioning properly. Make sure that no DTCs are output. If the smart access system with push-button start (for Start Function) is disabled through the customize function, enable the system before performing troubleshooting. Refer to PRECAUTION [06/2012 - ] . Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.
