  1. Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the battery negative (-) cable.
  2. Drain the engine coolant. Refer to " «COOLING SYSTEM»(ref-584454) ".
  3. Remove the radiator upper hose. Refer to " «REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-584454-S24590840092013110400000) ".
  4. Disconnect the knock sensor connector (A).
  5. Remove the intake manifold. Refer to " «INTAKE AND EXHAUST SYSTEM»(/kia/sportage/iii-2010-2014/remont/exhaust/#intake-exhaust-system-24l) ".
  6. Remove the installation bolt (A), and then remove the sensor from the cylinder block.
