Adjustment

  1. After replacing the ECM of the vehicle with the immobilizer, the following procedure must be performed. [If installing a used ECM] Perform "ECM Neutral Mode" procedure using GDS. (Refer to «REPAIR PROCEDURES»(ref-584486-S14218507882013110400000) ) After finishing "ECM Neutral Mode", perform "Key Teaching" procedure using GDS. (Refer to «REPAIR PROCEDURES»(ref-584486-S14218507882013110400000) ) [If installing a new ECM] Perform "Key Teaching" procedure using GDS. (Refer to «REPAIR PROCEDURES»(ref-584486-S14218507882013110400000) )
  1. After replacing the ECM of the vehicle with the smart key system (button start), the following procedure must be performed. [If installing a used ECM] Perform "ECM Neutral Mode" procedure using GDS. (Refer to «REPAIR PROCEDURES»(ref-584530-S21425087772013110400000) ) After finishing "ECM Neutral Mode", turn IGN ON then OFF using the smart key or start button. Then the ECM learns information on the smart key automatically. [If installing a new ECM] Turn IGN ON then OFF using the smart key or start button. Then the ECM learns information on the smart key automatically.
  1. After replacing ETC module or ECM, the ETC adaptive value must be reset/relearned. (Refer to «ADJUSTMENT»(ref-584485-S02366044902014010800000) )

After replacing ETC module or ECM, the ETC adaptive value must be reset/relearned according to the following procedure

  1. Check DTC(s) and clear if they exist.
  2. Select "Data Treatment", to reset the ETC adaptive value.
  3. Select "Resetting Adaptive Values".
  4. Select "Reset", then wait 10 seconds after turning ignition key off (Relay OFF).
  5. Wait for 5 seconds after turning the ignition ON (ETC adaptive value relearn). If equipped with Button Engine Start System, push the engine start/stop button 2 times without depressing the brake pedal. This will allow the ECM to automatically learn the throttle valve position; then wait for approximately 5 seconds. Enable conditions : Battery > 10V, Intake Air Temp. > 5.3°C (41.5°F), 5.3°C (41.5°F) < Engine Coolant Temp. < 99.8°C (211.6°F)
  6. Start engine.
  7. Recheck DTC(s).
