TRANSAXLE FLUID CAPACITIES (1)
Torque Converter & Oil Cooler Flushing
Whenever transaxle has been disassembled to replace worn or damaged components, or because valve body sticks due to foreign material, converter must be cleaned using a mechanically agitated cleaner. Under no conditions should converter be cleaned by hand agitation using solvent.
After removing torque converter from cleaning equipment, thoroughly drain remaining solvent from converter hub. Add 2 qts. (1.9L) of clean transmission fluid to converter and agitate by hand. Thoroughly drain converter hub.
- Allow fluid in flusher to heat up for 15-30 minutes, before using. Install line adapters into transaxle cooler lines.
- Attach Blue line to transaxle return line quick disconnect.
- Attach Clear line to transaxle outlet line quick disconnect.
- Backflush transaxle cooling system for 10 minutes, then flush cooler in a forward, normal flow direction for an additional 10 minutes.
- Refill transaxle with appropriate fluid. See «LUBRICATION»(ref-178373-S11212447422005061400000) .
