DTC P1448: LEAK DETECTION PUMP MALFUNCTION Kia Spectra I

Note. Leak Detection Pump module is also referred to as the Diagnostic Module Tank Leakage (DMTL). It incorporates a heater to dissipate condensation in the EVAP system.

Diagnostic Aids

Check for following possible problems

1. Open or short to battery between leak detection pump heater and ECM (terminal No. 9).
2. Short to ground between leak detection pump heater and ECM (terminal No. 9).
3. Faulty leak detection pump heater in leak detection pump module.
