EXPRESS WINDOW NOT CALIBRATED/LOST CALIBRATION

For a complete wiring diagram, refer to appropriate SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS article .

POSSIBLE CAUSES

Possible Causes
MOTOR NOT CALIBRATED
EXPRESS WINDOW SWITCH
DOOR MODULE (DDM)

Note. This condition can happen anytime the battery or the door module connector is disconnected.

DIAGNOSTIC TEST

  1. WINDOW MOTOR NOT CALIBRATED Run the window to the full up position and continue to hold the switch for an additional two seconds. Run the window to the full down position and continue to hold the switch for an additional two seconds. Again run the window to the full up position and continue to hold the switch for an additional two seconds. Lower the window all the way down then press and release the switch to the express up position. Did the window move to the full up position? No Go To 2 . Yes Test complete.
  2. EXPRESS WINDOW SWITCH Turn the ignition off. Move the Express Switch from the idle position to the up position and then to the express up position. Is there two definite detent positions felt? Yes Replace the Door Module in accordance with Service Information. Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(/jeep/grand-cherokee/wk2-2010-2013/remont/communication-devices/#totally-integrated-power-module-tipm-body-verification-test) . No Replace the Express Window Switch assembly. Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(/jeep/grand-cherokee/wk2-2010-2013/remont/communication-devices/#totally-integrated-power-module-tipm-body-verification-test) .

Scheme 9: REAR WINDOW MOTOR INOPERATIVE

For a complete wiring diagram, refer to appropriate SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS article .

Note. The graphics in this test show the Left Rear connectors, the Right side connectors are similar, refer to the Wiring Information for the connector pinouts.

THEORY OF OPERATION

By studying the schematic above, you will notice that the window driver circuits both go to ground when the switches are in the neutral position. In the driver switch, when a switch is moved to lower or raise a window, the switch leaves the ground contact, and supplies 12 volts to the Master Window Switch Rear Up or Down circuit. Likewise in the rear switch, when a switch is moved it leaves the ground contact and supplies 12 volts (through the window lockout switch output circuit) to the Rear Window Driver Up or Down circuit.

MASTER WINDOW SWITCH REAR (DOWN) CIRCUIT OPEN
MASTER WINDOW SWITCH REAR (UP) CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND
