Module Configuration: Removal & Installation Jaguar XKR I

Installation

1. Installation is the reverse of removal.
2. Perform the Battery Reconnection Procedure. Refer to «BATTERY RECONNECTION PROCEDURE»(ref-171253-S14708357522005020100000) .

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to «BATTERY DISCONNECTION PROCEDURE»(ref-171253-S19302448882005020100000).
2. Detach the driver seat module (DSM) and mounting bracket. (Scheme 28): Detaching Driver Seat Module (DSM) And Mounting Bracket
3. Remove the DSM and mounting bracket. Disconnect the electrical connectors. (Scheme 29): Disconnecting Electrical Connectors
4. Remove the DSM (Scheme 30): Removing DSM

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure. Tighten to 7 Nm. (Scheme 31): Installing DSM
2. Tighten to 4 Nm. (Scheme 32): Identifying Bolts
3. Carry out the battery reconnection procedure. Refer to «BATTERY RECONNECTION PROCEDURE»(ref-171253-S14708357522005020100000).

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to «BATTERY DISCONNECTION PROCEDURE»(ref-171253-S19302448882005020100000).
2. Remove the passenger side register duct. (Scheme 33): Removing Passenger Side Register Duct
3. Remove the glove compartment shelf. (Scheme 34): Removing Glove Compartment Shelf
4. Disconnect the multifunction electronic module electrical connector. (Scheme 35): Disconnecting Multifunction Electronic Module Electrical Connector
5. Remove the multifunction electronic module. Remove the three nuts which secure the module to the instrument panel (1). Remove the multifunction electronic module (2). (Scheme 36): Removing Multifunction Electronic Module

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
2. Connect the battery ground cable. Refer to «BATTERY RECONNECTION PROCEDURE»(ref-171253-S14708357522005020100000) .

1. Open the driver's door, or both doors if necessary, to allow the side windows to drop. Ensure that the doors remain open until after the battery has been disconnected.
2. Disconnect the battery ground cable. Remove the battery cover. (Scheme 37): Disconnecting Battery Ground Cable
3. Remove the trim pad from the door; refer to «DOOR TRIM PANEL»(ref-198049-S08318676492005101500000).
4. Remove the door speaker from the door. Remove the four bolts which secure the speaker. (Scheme 38): Removing Bolts Which Secure Speaker
5. Disconnect and remove the speaker. Support the speaker, disconnect the multi-plug and remove the speaker. (Scheme 39): Disconnecting Multi-Plug
6. Disconnect the door module. Remove the three screws which secure the module to the door. Reposition the module outwards through the speaker aperture. (Scheme 40): Removing Screws Which Secure Module To Door
7. Disconnect the harness from the module. Disconnect the two multi-plugs (1). Remove the module (2). (Scheme 41): Disconnecting Multi-Plugs
8. If necessary remove the foam gasket from the module; note that a new gasket must be fitted when installing a new module.

3. Remove the PSM and mounting bracket. Disconnect the electrical connectors. (Scheme 43): Disconnecting Electrical Connectors
4. Remove the PSM. (Scheme 44): Removing PSM

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure. Tighten to 7 Nm. (Scheme 45): Installing PSM
