Scheme 1: MONITOR SCANTOOL DATA
  1. Connect scantool to data link connector (DLC).
  2. Ignition "ON" & Engine "OFF".
  3. Monitor the "TRANSAXLE RANGE SWITCH" parameter on the scantool.
  4. Move selector lever from "P" range to other range.
  5. Does "TRANSAXLE RANGE SWITCH" follow the reference data? YES Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the sensor's and/or PCM's connector or was repaired and PCM memory was not cleared. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and go to " «VERIFICATION VEHICLE REPAIR»(ref-286596-S16492601142008060300000) " procedure. NO Go to " «TERMINAL & CONNECTOR INSPECTION»(ref-286596-S24325141612008060300000) " procedure.

Scheme 2: MONITOR SCANTOOL DATA
  1. Connect scantool to data link connector (DLC).
  2. Engine "ON".
  3. Monitor the "TRANSAXLE FLUID TEMPERATURE SENSOR" parameter on the scantool. Specification : Increasing gradually
  4. Does "TRANSAXLE FLUID TEMPERATURE SENSOR" follow the reference data? YES Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the sensor's and/or PCM's connector or was repaired and PCM memory was not cleared. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and go to " «VERIFICATION VEHICLE REPAIR»(ref-286596-S15027990602008060300000) " procedure. NO Go to " «TERMINAL & CONNECTOR INSPECTION»(ref-286596-S40632912762008060300000) " procedure.

Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration or damage.   5. Does "LR SOLENOID DUTY" follow the reference data? YES Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the sensor's and/or PCM's connector or was repaired and PCM memory was not cleared. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration or damage.
