SERVICE INTERVALS

Check transaxle fluid at every engine oil change. On all models except Sonata, replace fluid and filter at 105,000 mile intervals under normal conditions, and at 30,000 mile intervals under severe conditions. On Sonata, replace fluid and filter at 30,000 mile intervals under normal conditions, and at 15,000 mile intervals under severe conditions.

CHECKING FLUID LEVEL

Ensure vehicle is parked on level surface, and engine is at normal operating temperature. Shift transaxle through all ranges, ending in Neutral. With engine idling (transaxle in Neutral), fluid level should be full, between upper and middle marks of dipstick (HOT range). (Scheme 2) Insert dipstick fully into tube to prevent dirt from entering transaxle.
