Removal
- Disconnect negative battery cable.
- Disconnect generator electrical connector and remove generator battery cable. (Scheme 17)
- Loosen belt tension adjusting bolt and remove upper mounting bolt. (Scheme 18)
- Remove belt by pushing generator inward. (Scheme 19)
- Remove generator assembly from the vehicle. (Scheme 20)
Installation
- Position generator, and insert lower support bolt. DO NOT install nut at this time. Push generator forward and determine how many 0.008" (0.2 mm) spacers need to be inserted between front leg of generator and front case at position "A". (Scheme 21)
- There should be enough spacers so that they do not fall out when released. Insert spacers and install nut. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Adjust belt tension to specification. See «DRIVE BELTS»(ref-167604-S39524377352004101800000) under ADJUSTMENTS. Tighten bolts and nuts to specification. See «TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-167604-S09050272022004101800000).

Removal & Installation
- Disconnect negative battery cable.

- Remove tension adjusting bolt and upper mounting bolt. Remove generator drive belt. Remove lower mounting bolt and nut. (Scheme 23). Remove generator from vehicle.
- To install, reverse removal procedure. Adjust belt tension to specification. See «DRIVE BELTS»(ref-167604-S39524377352004101800000) under ADJUSTMENTS. Tighten bolts and nuts to specification. See «TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS»(ref-167604-S09050272022004101800000).
