- Remove the hatch glass weatherstrip (see «HATCH GLASS WEATHERSTRIP REPLACEMENT»(ref-333583-S12724290662009072100000) ).
- Remove the tailgate upper trim panel (A). Detach the hooks (B) and tabs (C) from the left tailgate side trim (D) and right tailgate side trim (E). Pull the tailgate upper trim panel back by hand to detach the clips, then remove it.
- Remove the left tailgate side trim (A) and the right tailgate side trim (B). Pull out the top of the side trim to detach the clips. With power tailgate: release the rod (C) from the slit (D). Detach the tabs (E) and hooks (F) from the tailgate lower trim panel (G).
- Remove the tailgate pull pocket (A). Carefully pull the edge of the tailgate lower trim panel (B) just beside the tailgate pull pocket by hand, and push out the inside hooks (C). Pull down the upper edge of the pocket and release the lower tabs (D). With power tailgate: Disconnect the power tailgate close switch connector (E).
- Pry out the cap (A) and remove the bolt, then remove the pull strap (B).
- Remove the tailgate lower trim panel (A). Detach the clips (B) beside the tailgate latch. Pull down the panel to detach all of the clips (C).
- Install the trim and panel in the reverse order of removal, and note these items: Make sure the power tailgate close switch connector is plugged in properly. If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones. Push the clips, hooks, and tabs into place securely.

Note. Use the appropriate tool from the KTC trim tool set to avoid damage when removing components. When prying with a flat-tip screwdriver, wrap it with protective tape to prevent damage.

- Lower the grab handle (A), then insert a small flat-tip screwdriver wrapped in protective tape into the notch.
- Use a KTC trim tool (A) to pull on the small flat-tip screwdriver, and remove the cap (B).
- While pinching the clips (A), release the hooks (B), then remove the grab handle (C).
- Using a pair pliers, remove all of the clips (A) by pinching the hooks with a pair of pliers.
- If the side curtain airbag has deployed, replace the grab handle with a new one.
- If the side curtain airbag has not deployed, inspect the grab handle for damage. A damaged grab handle may cause the side curtain airbag to deploy improperly, possibly causing injury. Replace the grab handle if it has any of the following damage: Any cracks or damage in the grab handle (A) Any cracks or stress-whitening in the caps (B)
- Install the clips (A) to the grab handle (B), then install the caps (C) fully into the clips.
- Position the grab handle (A) on the body (B), and push on the grab handle until the clips (C) snap into place securely.

- Remove the roof console (A). Remove the lenses (B). Remove the screws (C), then pull out the front individual map light (D). Disconnect the front individual map light connector (E). If equipped, disconnect the moonroof switch connector (F). Remove the screws (G). Pull out the front side of the console, and release the rear hooks (H).
- Pry out the cover (A) and remove the screws, then remove the coat hanger (B).
- Remove the ground bolt (A).
- With rearview mirror: Disconnect the connector (A).
- If necessary, remove the roof console screw grommet (A) by squeezing the hooks (B).
- If necessary, remove the map light clip by releasing the hooks (C), and then prying out the clip (D).
- Disconnect roof wire harness connector (A) and detach the harness clips (B) from the driver's side A-pillar (C).
- Disconnect the rear washer hose joint (A) and the roof wire harness connector (B), then detach the harness clips (C) from the passenger's side A-pillar (D).
- Disconnect the rear window washer tube at the rear hatch, (see step 3 on «TAILGATE HINGE COVER REPLACEMENT»(ref-333593-S02892657622009072100000) )
- Lower the headliner (A). Remove the front door opening seals (B), rear door opening seals (C), and tailgate weatherstrip (D) from each roof portion. With moonroof: Release the Velcro fasteners (E) and front clips (F) by lowering the headliner. With the help of an assistant, detach the rear clips (G) by pulling the rear portion of the headliner down. Detach the magnets (H) by carefully pulling down on the headliner. - With the help of an assistant, pull the headliner (A) along with the roof wire harness out through the tailgate opening. Do not bend the headliner excessively as this may crease or damage it.
- If necessary, remove the cushion tapes (A) fastening the roof wire harness (B), the rear washer hose (C), and the RES wire harness (D) (with rear entertainment system) to the headliner (E) and detach the harness clips (F), then remove them from the headliner. Without moonroof With moonroof With moonroof and with rear entertainment system
- Install the headliner in the reverse order of removal, and note these items: If the side curtain airbag has deployed, replace the headliner and affected trim pieces (see «COMPONENT REPLACEMENT/INSPECTION AFTER DEPLOYMENT»(ref-333646-S14025615592009072100000) ). To prevent the side curtain airbags from deploying improperly and possibly causing injury, inspect the headliner and all removed trim. Replace any pieces with the following damage: Any crease or tears in the headliner (A) Any cracks or breakage in the grab handle (B) Any damage around the grab handle holes (C) or sunvisor holes in the headliner Any cracks in the sunvisor bracket cover (D) Any bends or cracks in the sunvisor stay shaft (E) Any cracks in the sunvisor base (F) Any cracks or breakage in the vanity mirror base (G) Any fasteners (H), clip bases (I), or magnet bases (J) which have come off the headliner When installing the grab handle, push on the handle against the bracket (K) until the clips (L) snap into place securely. If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones. Replace the removed cushion tape with new pieces. Check that both sides of the headliner are securely attached to the roof. Make sure the headliner overlaps the trim pieces correctly (see «CHECKING AND ADJUSTING THE HEADLINER/PILLAR TRIM OVERLAP»(ref-333646-S02112221432009072100000) ). Be careful not to crease or damage the headliner when reinstalling it through the tailgate opening. Also be careful not to scratch the body.

- Do the battery terminal disconnection procedure (see «BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION AND RECONNECTION»(ref-333608-S13381695222009072100000) ), then wait at least 3 minutes before beginning work.

- Detach the hooks (A), then remove the footrest plate (B).
- Remove the nut with a 6 mm hexagonal wrench, release the clip, then remove the footrest (A).
- Remove the clips fastening both rear side trim panels (A). Pull out the edge of the carpet (B) from under the panels.
- Remove the clips fastening the edge of the carpet (A) from both front door sill areas and both rear door sill areas. Pull out the edge of the carpet from under the B-pillar lower trim (B).
- Pull out the edges of the carpet (A) from under the center console (B), driver's/passenger's console trim (C), and console rear trim (D).
- Release the fastener (A) on the front edge of the carpet (B), then pull back the carpet from under the dashboard.
- Remove the carpet.
- Install the carpet in the reverse order of removal, and note these items: Take care not to damage, wrinkle, or twist the carpet. Make sure the floor wire harnesses (A) are routed correctly. Slip the slits (B) in the carpet over the rear heater ducts (C) and the third row seat heater duct (D). Slip the carpet under the center console, both B-pillar lower trims, and both rear side trim panels properly. Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure (see «BATTERY TERMINAL DISCONNECTION AND RECONNECTION»(ref-333608-S13381695222009072100000) ).
