Shift Interlock Systems: Removal & Installation Honda CR-V II

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

WARNINGVehicle is equipped with Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) system. When servicing vehicle, use care to avoid accidental air bag deployment. SIR system-related components are located in various locations throughout interior and exterior of vehicle, depending on application. Do not use electrical test equipment on or near these circuits. If necessary, deactivate SIR system before servicing components. See AIR BAG DEACTIVATION PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION.
CAUTIONWhen battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION before disconnecting battery.
  1. Remove the driver's dashboard lower cover. See «DASHBOARD LOWER COVER»(ref-152998-S35569288442003031000000) under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  2. Remove steering column upper cover.
  3. Gently pull out the instrument panel (A) along the bottom to release the clips. (Scheme 87)
  4. Remove the instrument panel (A) by the following: Gently pull out the upper portion of the instrument panel to release the clips (B and C), and hooks (D, E, F and G). (Scheme 88) Gently pull out on the panel being careful not to bend the trip/reset (H) and dash lights brightness controller (if equipped). Slip the shift knob (I) through the hole in the instrument panel.
  5. Install the panel in the reverse order of removal.

PCM is located behind glove box. see scheme 1 Remove glove box stops, then open glove box. Remove harness connector clamp from bracket. Loosen mounting nut on lower right side of PCM. Remove mounting bolt and nut on left side of PCM. Lift PCM up to clear mounting nut on lower right side of PCM. Pull PCM outward. (Scheme 89) Disconnect PCM harness connectors. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten bolts to 106 INCH lbs. (12 N.m) specification.
