- Problem verification: 1. Clear the DTCs with the HDS. 2. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0) and then back to ON (II). 3. Wait for at least 6 seconds. 4. Check for DTCs with the HDS. Is DTC U0121 indicated? YES: Go to step 2. NO: Intermittent failure, the system is OK at this time. Check for loose or poor connections.
- Fuse check: 1. Check the following fuse. Fuse No. B40 (7.5 A) Location Under-dash fuse/relay box Is the fuse OK? YES: Go to step 3. NO: Replace the fuse. If the fuse blows again, repair a short to ground in the No. B40 (7.5 A) fuse circuit.
- Open wire check (+B_TPMS line): 1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0). 2. Disconnect the following connector. TPMS control unit 20P connector 3. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2. Test condition IG LOCK (0) TPMS control unit 20P connector: disconnected Test circuit +B_TPMS Test point 1 TPMS control unit 20P connector No. 1 (BLU) Test point 2 Body ground Is there battery voltage? YES: Go to step 4. NO: Repair an open or high resistance in the wire.
- Open wire check (IG1_METER): 1. Measure the voltage between test points 1 and 2. Test condition IG ON (II) TPMS control unit 20P connector: disconnected Test circuit IG1_METER Test point 1 TPMS control unit 20P connector No. 3 (BRN) Test point 2 Body ground Is there battery voltage? YES: Go to step 5. NO: Repair an open or high resistance in the wire.
- Open wire check (GND): 1. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2. Test condition IG LOCK (0) TPMS control unit 20P connector: disconnected Test circuit GND Test point 1 TPMS control unit 20P connector No. 8 (BLK) Test point 2 Body ground Is there battery voltage? YES: Go to step 6. NO: Repair an open or high resistance in the ground wire or poor ground (G501).
- Open wire check (F_CAN lines): 1. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0). 2. Disconnect the following connector. Gauge control module (tach) 32P connector 3. Check for continuity between test points 1 and 2 respectively. Test condition IG LOCK (0) TPMS control unit 20P connector: disconnected Gauge control module (tach) 32P connector: disconnected Test circuit F_CAN-H Test point 1 TPMS control unit 20P connector No. 9 (WHT) Test point 2 Gauge control module (tach) 32P connector No. 19 (WHT) Test circuit F_CAN-L Test point 1 TPMS control unit 20P connector No. 20 (RED) Test point 2 Gauge control module (tach) 32P connector No. 20 (RED) Is there continuity? YES: Replace the gauge control module (tach) See «GAUGE CONTROL MODULE (TACH) REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-614110-S24253527182014050700000) , «REWRITING THE ODO DATA AND TRANSFERRING THE MAINTENANCE MINDER™ DATA TO A NEW GAUGE CONTROL MODULE»(ref-614119-S22749513832014050700000) or «GAUGE CONTROL MODULE (SPEEDO) REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION»(ref-614110-S22536531082014050700000) . NO: An open or poor connection in the F_CAN wires between the TPMS control unit and the gauge control module (tach).
