Note. Put on gloves to protect your hands. Take care not to scratch the body or the related parts.

Scheme 12

1. Remove these items: Rear seat-back (see «REAR SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION»(ref-424920-S15318549972011100100000) ) Rear seat side bolster, 4-door (see «SEAT CUSHION - 4-DOOR»(ref-424920-S13819267462011100100000) ) Trunk side trim panel (see «TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - TRUNK AREA»(ref-424935-S09291865162011100100000) ) Rear wheelhouse insulator, as needed (see step 10 under «TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - TRUNK AREA»(ref-424935-S09291865162011100100000) )
2. Detach the wire harness clips (A), and remove the bolts (B), then remove the rear wheelwell gusset (C).
3. Install the gusset in the reverse order of removal, and note these items: If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones. Push the clips into place securely.

1. Remove the rear side trim panel (see «TRIM REMOVAL/INSTALLATION - REAR SIDE AREA»(ref-424935-S05757853462011100100000) ).
2. Pull back the rear part of the carpet as needed.
3. Remove the bolts (A, B), then remove the middle crossmember gusset (C).
4. Install the gusset in the reverse order of removal. When installing the mounting bolts for the middle crossmember gusset (A), tighten the mounting hardware in the sequence shown. If the mounting bolts are not tightened in this sequence, damage to the quarter panel will occur.
