1. Remove the two rear seat mounting bolts.
2. Move the seat rearward.
3. Deactivate the SRS. For additional information, refer to Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Activating and Deactivating in «AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS»(ref-150664) .
4. Remove the two front seat mounting bolts.
5. Tilt the seat forward and disconnect the seat electrical connectors.
6. Remove the safety belt from the seat guide.
7. Remove the seat from the vehicle.

1. While positioning the seat in the vehicle, connect the seat electrical connectors.
2. Install the two front seat mounting bolts.
3. Reactivate the SRS. For additional information, refer to Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Deactivating and Activating in «AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS»(ref-150664) .
4. Move the seat forward.
5. Install the two rear seat mounting bolts.
6. Position the safety belt back into the seat guide. Make sure the safety belt is not twisted after installation.
7. Check the active restraint system for correct operation. .

2. Remove the seat control switch cover.
3. Remove the seat cushion side shield. For additional information, refer to «FRONT SEAT CUSHION - SIDE SHIELD»(ref-204630-S42138654182005111300000) .
4. Remove the two screws and the seat control switch.

3. Install the seat control switch cover.

1. Remove the seat and deactivate the SRS. For additional information, refer to «FRONT SEAT»(ref-204630-S36205889712005111300000) .
2. Remove the front cushion side shield. For additional information, refer to «FRONT SEAT BACKREST»(ref-204630-S00083642532005111300000) .
3. Pressing the release button, pull the head restraint from the seat.
4. Remove the safety belt guide screw cover.
5. Remove the two screws.
6. Release the backrest upholstery J-clip.
7. Separate the hook and loop fasteners that attach the upholstery to the backrest cushion. Remove the upholstery.
8. Remove and discard the hog rings. Remove the backrest cushion.
9. Pull down on the lower rung of the lumbar basket to release the basket from the backrest frame. Remove the lumbar basket from the backrest frame.

1. Attach the top of the lumbar basket on the backrest frame.
2. Hook the bottom of the lumbar basket on the backrest frame.
3. Position the backrest cushion. Install new hog rings.
4. Install the backrest upholstery and smooth out any wrinkles.
5. Attach the backrest upholstery J-clip.
6. Install the safety belt guide.
7. Install the screw cover.
8. Install the head restraint.
9. Install the front cushion side shield. For additional information, refer to «FRONT SEAT BACKREST»(ref-204630-S00083642532005111300000) .
10. Install the front seat and reactivate the SRS. For additional information, refer to «FRONT SEAT»(ref-204630-S36205889712005111300000) .

2. Remove the front seat cushion. For additional information, refer to «FRONT SEAT CUSHION»(ref-204630-S31671390612005111300000) .
3. Release the backrest upholstery J-clip.
4. Separate the hook and loop fasteners that attach the upholstery to the backrest cushion and roll up the upholstery to the hog rings.
5. Remove the two backrest recliner retainer bolts. Lift off the backrest recliner.

1. Position the backrest recliner on the backrest frame. Install the bolts.
2. Roll down the backrest upholstery and smooth out any wrinkles.
3. Attach the backrest upholstery J-clip.

5. Install the front seat and reactivate the SRS. For additional information, refer to «FRONT SEAT»(ref-204630-S36205889712005111300000) .

1. Remove the seat and deactivate the SRS. For additional information, refer to «FRONT SEAT»(ref-204630-S36205889712005111300000) .
2. Remove the seat cushion. For additional information, refer to «FRONT SEAT CUSHION»(ref-204630-S31671390612005111300000) .
3. Lift the locking clip from the side air bag module electrical connector tab to release the connector from the seat frame. Detach the side air bag module electrical connector harness from the seat frame. To aid installation, note the side air bag module electrical harness routing during removal.
4. Remove the outboard front recliner retainer bolt and spacer.
5. Release the electrical harness from the seat frame. Remove the seat backrest pivot bolt. To aid installation, note the locations of the electrical harness-to-seat frame attachment points.
6. Remove the outboard rear recliner retainer bolt and spacer.
7. Remove the backrest from the lower seat frame.

1. Position the backrest on the lower seat frame. Install the rear recliner spacer and retainer bolt.
2. Install the seat backrest pivot bolt. Attach the side air bag module electrical harness to the frame.
3. Install the front recliner spacer and retainer bolt.
4. Attach the side air bag connector to the seat frame. Attach the electrical harness to the seat frame as noted during removal.
5. Install the front seat cushion. For additional information, refer to «FRONT SEAT CUSHION»(ref-204630-S31671390612005111300000) .
6. Install the front seat and reactivate the SRS. For additional information, refer to «FRONT SEAT»(ref-204630-S36205889712005111300000) .

2. Release the push-pin retainer.
3. Remove the screw.
4. Release the front cushion side shield front clip retainer.
5. Release the front cushion side shield center clip retainer.
6. Release the tab. Disconnect the seat control switch electrical connector and remove the front cushion side shield.

1. Position the front cushion side shield and connect the electrical connector.
2. Attach the front cushion side shield center clip retainer.
3. Attach the front cushion side shield front clip retainer.
4. Install screw.
5. Attach the push-pin retainer.

1. Remove the seat and deactivate the SRS. For additional information, refer to «FRONT SEAT»(ref-204630-S36205889712005111300000) .
2. Remove the safety belt buckle. .
3. Remove the seat cushion to isolate the seat track. For additional information, refer to «FRONT SEAT CUSHION»(ref-204630-S31671390612005111300000) .
4. Install a new seat track assembly as a unit.

1. Position the seat track and install the seat cushion-to-seat track bolts. For additional information, refer to «FRONT SEAT CUSHION»(ref-204630-S31671390612005111300000) .
2. Install the safety belt buckle. .
3. Install the front seat and reactivate the SRS. For additional information, refer to «FRONT SEAT»(ref-204630-S36205889712005111300000) .

Note. If a seat equipped with a supplemental restraint system (SRS) component is being serviced, the SRS must be deactivated .

Note. The air bag warning lamp illuminates when the RCM fuse is removed and the ignition switch is ON. This is normal operation and does not indicate a supplemental restraint system (SRS) fault.

Note. The SRS must be fully operational and free of faults before releasing the vehicle to the customer.

Note. Wear protective gloves as needed when handling components or parts that have pointed or sharp edges.

1. Position the new and old seat track motor assembly side by side. Position the new seat track motor assembly stub shaft flat spots (splines) in the same position as the old seat track motor assembly flat spots. If necessary, apply power and ground to the new seat track motor electrical connector as shown during removal to obtain the same position.
2. Install the seat track motor assembly to the upper support assembly. NOTE: Make sure the motor is positioned right side up. Install the seat track motor assembly pivots through the front and rear height adjustment gear brackets. Apply multi-purpose grease to the motor pivots. Mesh the seat track motor assembly gears to the front and rear height adjustment gears. There should not be a gap between the upper support assembly gears and the seat track motor assembly housing.
3. Install the support straps. The support straps must fit flush against the front and rear height adjustment gears.
4. Check to make sure the index marks on the outboard track C-channel and plastic coated slide are still in alignment.
5. Position the pinion cage onto the outboard track.
6. Install the outboard track. Position the track studs through the seat track motor assembly. While sliding the track studs through the seat track motor assembly, position the pinion cage opening around the seat track motor assembly gear. Fit the support straps and seat track motor assembly gear bushing alignment pins into the track openings.
7. When assembled, make sure the outboard track, support straps, front and rear height adjustment gears and seat track motor assembly all fit flush against each other. Make sure the support straps and seat track motor assembly gear bushing alignment pins fit into the track openings.
8. Install the 2 bolts holding the seat track motor assembly to the outboard track.
9. Install the bracket (if equipped) and two nuts.
10. Install the outboard retainer clip.
11. Check to make sure the index marks on the outboard track C-channel and plastic coated slide are still in alignment. The index marks on the outboard track C-channel and plastic coated slide must align at this step. If the index marks do not match up, repeat Steps 1 through 10.
12. Check to make sure the index marks on the inboard track C-channel and plastic coated slide are still in alignment.
13. Assemble the seat track motor assembly, upper support assembly and inboard track together. Align the drive tube to the motor stub shaft. Tap the nose of the inboard track gear toward the seat track motor stub shaft. Positioning a block of metal or wood behind the motor gear can aid assembly. While tapping the parts together, simultaneously engage the front and rear lift links to the inboard track. When the lift links are up against the inboard track, with the bushings through the hole and seated, the drive tube is fully engaged.
14. Install the nuts holding the inboard track to the upper support assembly lift links.
15. Check to make sure the index marks on the inboard track C-channel and plastic coated slide are still in alignment. The index marks on the inboard track C-channel and plastic coated slide must align at this step. If the index marks do not match up, repeat Steps 12 through 14.
16. Position the seat track in the vehicle. The left and right front mounting feet holes should align with the floor pan mounting holes, without pushing or pulling the seat track to force alignment. Check the witness marks (indentations) in the carpet. The tracks should line up closely with them. If the seat track does not align to the vehicle, check to make sure the index marks on the inboard and outboard track rails and guides are still in alignment. Repeat the necessary steps until the index marks align.

18. Install the seat and reactivate the SRS. For additional information, refer to «FRONT SEAT»(ref-204630-S36205889712005111300000) .
