  1. Position the transaxle range selector lever in OVERDRIVE.
  2. Loosen the manual control lever-to-shift control cable nut.
  3. Position the manual control lever in OVERDRIVE. Tighten the nut.
  4. Check the operation of the transaxle in each transaxle range selector lever position.

  1. Position the transaxle range selector lever in OVERDRIVE. Hang a 1.4 kg (3 lb) weight on the lever.
  2. Loosen the manual control lever-to-shift control cable nut.
  3. Position the manual control lever in OVERDRIVE. Tighten the manual control lever-to-shift control cable nut.
  4. Remove the 1.4 kg (3 lb) weight. Check the operation of the transaxle in each transaxle range selector lever position.

  1. Remove the center console. For additional information, refer to «INSTRUMENT PANEL AND CONSOLE»(ref-212149) .
  2. Remove the ignition/shifter interlock cable from the floor shift. Disconnect the cable from the bracket. Disconnect the cable from the shift cam.
  3. Remove the LH lower instrument panel trim.
  4. Disconnect four electrical connectors.
  5. Remove the steering column support bracket. Remove the diagnostic electrical connector bolts. Remove the steering column support bracket bolts.
  6. Remove the nuts and lower the steering column.
  7. Disconnect the shift interlock electrical connector.
  8. Remove the bolts.
  9. Remove the ignition/shifter interlock cable and actuator assembly.
