MOON ROOF LEAKS
If moon roof leaks, check for the following
- Incorrect adjustment.
- Drain tubes blocked.
- Worn or damaged seals.
- Moon roof housing damaged.
If problem is found, repair or replace components as necessary. After repair, test moon roof for proper operation.
MOON ROOF INOPERATIVE
If moon roof does not operate, check the following
- Central Junction Box (CJB).
- Open fuse No. 10 (30-amp) in CJB.
- Open or shorted circuit in wiring.
- Worn or damaged control switch.
- Defective accessory delay relay.
- Defective battery saver relay.
- Generic Electronic Module (GEM) malfunction.
- Worn or damaged moon roof motor assembly.
If problem is found, repair or replace components as necessary. After repair, test moon roof for proper operation.
MOON ROOF WILL NOT SLIDE OPEN OR CLOSE FROM VENT POSITION
If moon roof will not slide open or close from vent position, check the following
- Open or shorted circuit in wiring.
- Faulty control switch.
- Faulty moon roof motor assembly.
- Generic Electronic Module (GEM).
If problem is found, repair or replace components as necessary. After repair, test moon roof for proper operation.
SYSTEM TESTS
| CAUTION | When battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION before disconnecting battery. |
Note. Before beginning system testing, perform TROUBLE SHOOTING .
Note. Perform all voltage and resistance tests using a Digital Volt-Ohm Meter (DVOM) with a minimum 10-megohm input impedance, unless stated otherwise in test procedure. Use ohmmeter to isolate wiring harness shorts or opens.
| Symptom | Perform Test |
|---|---|
| Excessive Wind Noise | A |
| Moon Roof Leaks | B |
| Moon Roof Noisy During Operation | C |
| Moon Roof Inoperative | D |
| No Operation In Vent Position | E |
| Glass Roof Panel Does Not Stop In Flush Position | F |

SYMPTOM INDEX
MOON ROOF CONTROL SWITCH
Remove moon roof control switch. Measure resistance between appropriate terminal at moon roof control switch with switch in specified position. See MOON ROOF CONTROL SWITCH TEST table. If resistance is not as specified, replace moon roof control switch.
| Switch Position | Terminals No. | Resistance |
|---|---|---|
| Off | 1 & 2; 2 & 3 | Greater Than 10,000 Ohms |
| Up Or Closed | 1 & 2 | Less Than 5 Ohms |
| Down Or Open | 2 & 3 | Less Than 5 Ohms |

ACCESSORY DELAY RELAY
- Remove accessory delay relay from Central Junction Box (CJB), CJB is located behind left side of instrument panel, next to Generic Electronic Module (GEM). see scheme 1 Check continuity between relay terminals No. 85 and 86 (component side). (Scheme 9) Continuity should exist. Check continuity between relay terminals No. 30 and 87 (component side). Continuity should not exist. If both continuity readings are as specified, go to next step. If any continuity reading is not as specified, replace accessory delay relay.
- Apply ground to accessory relay terminal No. 85, and apply battery voltage to accessory relay terminal No. 86 (component side). (Scheme 9) Check continuity between relay terminals No. 30 and 87 (component side). Continuity should exist. If continuity is as specified, accessory delay relay is okay at this time. If continuity is not as specified, replace accessory delay relay.
