- Thoroughly wash the oil pan and clean old sealer from all gasket surfaces with Metal Surface Cleaner F4AZ-19A536-RA or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSE-M5B392-A.
- Apply a 4-61 mm (0.16-0.23) bead of Silicone Gasket and Sealant F7AZ-19554-EA or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSE-M4G323-A4 to the junction of the main bearing cap and the cylinder block and to the junction of the front cover assembly and the cylinder block.
- Position the oil pan gasket to the oil pan by aligning the fastener holes and securing the gasket with the gasket clips.
- Tighten the oil pan bolts to 12 Nm (9 lb-ft) in the sequence shown. Vehicles Equipped With Coil Springs
- Remove the blocks from between the engine mounts and the support brackets.
- Lower the engine and remove the Three-Bar Engine Support and the Lifting Eyes.
- Install the nuts.

- Fill the engine with Super Premium SAE 5W-20 Motor Oil XO-5W20-QSP or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSS-M2C153-H.
- Start the engine and check for leaks.

- Inspect the engine and cooling system for leaks.
- After the engine has warmed to operating temperature, retighten the oil pan bolts starting from the rear of the oil pan and work forward. Tighten the oil pan bolts to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).
