Removal

WARNINGDo not smoke, carry lighted tobacco or have an open flame of any type when working on or near any fuel-related component. Highly flammable mixtures are always present and may be ignited. Failure to follow these instructions may result in serious personal injury.
WARNINGBefore working on or disconnecting any of the fuel tubes or fuel system components, relieve the fuel system pressure to prevent accidental spraying of fuel. Fuel in the fuel system remains under high pressure, even when the engine is not running. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal injury.

Note. During engine repair procedures, cleanliness is extremely important. Any foreign material, including any material created while cleaning gasket surfaces that enters the oil passages, coolant passages or the oil pan, can cause engine failure.

  1. Release the fuel system pressure. For additional information, refer to «FUEL SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION»(ref-439829) article.
  2. Drain the engine cooling system. For additional information, refer to «ENGINE COOLING SYSTEM»(ref-439830) article.
  3. Drain the Supercharger (SC) cooling system. For additional information, refer to «SUPERCHARGER COOLING»(ref-439831) article.
  4. Remove the Air Cleaner (ACL) outlet pipe. For additional information, refer to «INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM & INTAKE AIR FILTERING SYSTEM»(ref-439816) article.
  5. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to «BATTERY, BATTERY MOUNTING SYSTEM & BATTERY CABLES»(ref-439815) article.
  6. Remove the EGR tube. For additional information, refer to «EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM»(ref-439832) article.
  7. Disconnect the Throttle Position (TP) sensor electrical connector.
  8. Disconnect the Evaporative Emission (EVAP) tube and electrical connector from the EVAP canister purge valve and the brake booster vacuum supply tube from the Throttle Body (TB) spacer.
  9. Remove the 4 bolts and the TB and spacer assembly aside.
  10. Disconnect the Intake Air Temperature 2 (IAT2) sensor electrical connector.
  11. Disconnect the fuel supply tube. For additional information, refer to «FUEL SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION»(ref-439829) article.
  12. Disconnect the 4 LH fuel injector electrical connectors.
  13. Remove the 2 bolts and the wiring harness retainer from the rear of the intake manifold.
  14. Detach the 2 wiring harness pin-type retainers from the rear of the intake manifold.
  15. Disconnect the fuel rail pressure and temperature sensor electrical connector.
  16. Disconnect the 4 RH fuel injector electrical connectors.
  17. Disconnect the EGR system module electrical connector.
  18. Disconnect the crankcase ventilation tube from the RH side of the SC .
  19. Disconnect the SC bubbler hose from the rear of the SC .
  20. Rotate the SC drive belt tensioner clockwise and remove the drive belt from the SC drive pulley.
  21. Disconnect the 2 upper radiator hoses and the 2 coolant vent hoses from the intake manifold.
  22. Disconnect the 2 coolant hoses from the Charge Air Cooler (CAC).
  23. Disconnect the heater hose located below the rear of the intake manifold.
  24. Remove the 14 bolts and the intake manifold assembly. Discard the gaskets.

  1. Using new intake manifold gaskets, position the intake manifold.
  2. Install the 14 bolts. Tighten in the sequence shown in illustration to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
  3. Connect the heater hose located below the rear of the intake manifold.
  4. Connect the 2 coolant hoses to the CAC .
  5. Connect the 2 upper radiator hoses and the 2 coolant vent hoses to the intake manifold.
  6. Rotate the SC drive belt tensioner clockwise and install the drive belt onto the SC drive pulley.
  7. Connect the SC bubbler hose to the rear of the SC .
  8. Connect the crankcase ventilation tube to the RH side of the SC .
  9. Connect the EGR system module electrical connector.
  10. Connect the 4 RH fuel injector electrical connectors.
  11. Connect the fuel rail pressure and temperature sensor electrical connector.
  12. Attach the 2 wiring harness pin-type retainers to the rear of the intake manifold.
  13. Install the wiring harness retainer and the 2 bolts onto the rear of the intake manifold.
  14. Connect the 4 LH fuel injector electrical connectors.
  15. Connect the fuel supply tube. For additional information, refer to «FUEL SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION»(ref-439829) article.
  16. Connect the IAT2 sensor electrical connector.
  17. Install the TB and spacer assembly and the 4 bolts. Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
  18. Connect the EVAP tube and electrical connector from the EVAP canister purge valve and the brake booster vacuum supply tube from the TB spacer.
  19. Connect the TP sensor electrical connector.
  20. Install the EGR tube. For additional information, refer to «EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM»(ref-439832) article.
  21. Install the ACL outlet pipe. For additional information, refer to «INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM & INTAKE AIR FILTERING SYSTEM»(ref-439816) article.
  22. Connect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to «BATTERY, MOUNTING & BATTERY CABLES»(ref-439815) article.
  23. Fill and bleed the SC cooling system. For additional information, refer to «SUPERCHARGER COOLING»(ref-439831) article.
  24. Fill and bleed the engine cooling system. For additional information, refer to «ENGINE COOLING SYSTEM»(ref-439830) article.
  1. Remove the battery and tray. For additional information, refer to «BATTERY, MOUNTING & BATTERY CABLES»(ref-439815) article.
  2. Remove the RH ignition coils. For additional information, refer to «IGNITION SYSTEM - 5.4L (4V)»(ref-439826) article.
  3. Remove the crankcase ventilation tube.
  4. Disconnect the PCV valve electrical connector.
  5. Remove the nut and the RH radio interference capacitor.
  6. Disconnect the 4 RH fuel injector electrical connectors.
  7. Disconnect the fuel rail pressure and temperature sensor electrical connector.
  8. Disconnect the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor electrical connector.
  9. Detach the 3 wiring harness retainers from the RH valve cover studs.
  10. Detach the wiring harness pin-type retainer from the rear of the intake manifold.
  11. Remove the nut and the A/C tube support bracket.
  12. Remove the 7 bolts, 3 stud bolts and RH valve cover. Remove and discard the gaskets. NOTE: Do not use metal scrapers, wire brushes, power abrasive discs or other abrasive means to clean the sealing surfaces. These tools cause scratches and gouges which make leak paths. Use a plastic scraping tool to remove all traces of old sealant. Clean the mating surfaces with silicone gasket remover and metal surface prep. Follow the directions on the packaging. Inspect the mating surfaces.

  1. Install new gaskets. Make sure the gaskets are correctly seated on the valve cover.
  2. Apply a bead of silicone gasket and sealant in 2 places where the engine front cover meets the cylinder head.
  3. Install the RH valve cover, the 7 bolts and 3 stud bolts. Tighten in the sequence shown in illustration to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
  4. Install the A/C tube support bracket and nut. Tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).
  5. Attach the wiring harness pin-type retainer to the rear of the intake manifold.
  6. Attach the 3 wiring harness retainers to the RH valve cover studs.
  7. Connect the ECT sensor electrical connector.
  8. Connect the fuel rail pressure and temperature sensor electrical connector.
  9. Connect the 4 RH fuel injector electrical connectors.
  10. Install the RH radio interference capacitor and the nut. Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
  11. Connect the PCV valve electrical connector.
  12. Install the crankcase ventilation tube.
  13. Install the RH ignition coils. For additional information, refer to «IGNITION SYSTEM - 5.4L (4V)»(ref-439826) article.
  14. Install the battery and tray. For additional information, refer to «BATTERY, MOUNTING & BATTERY CABLES»(ref-439815) article.
  1. Release the fuel system pressure. For additional information, refer to «FUEL SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION»(ref-439829) article.
  2. Disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to «BATTERY, MOUNTING & BATTERY CABLES»(ref-439815) article.
  3. Remove the power brake booster. For additional information, refer to «POWER BRAKE SYSTEM ACTUATION»(ref-439808) article.
  4. Remove the Air Cleaner (ACL) assembly and ACL outlet pipe. For additional information, refer to «INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM & INTAKE AIR FILTERING SYSTEM»(ref-439816) article.
  5. Remove the LH ignition coils. For additional information, refer to «IGNITION SYSTEM - 5.4L (4V)»(ref-439826) article.
  6. Disconnect the Throttle Position (TP) sensor electrical connector.
  7. Disconnect the electronic throttle control electrical connector.
  8. Disconnect the brake booster vacuum hose from the Throttle Body (TB) spacer.
  9. Disconnect the Evaporative Emission (EVAP) canister purge valve tube from the TB spacer. For additional information, refer to «FUEL SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION»(ref-439829) article.
  10. Disconnect the EVAP purge valve electrical connector.
  11. Remove the 4 bolts and the TB and spacer assembly. Discard the gasket.
  12. Disconnect the 4 LH fuel injector electrical connectors.
  13. Disconnect the fuel supply tube. For additional information, refer to «FUEL SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION»(ref-439829) article.
  14. Remove the nut and the LH radio interference capacitor.
  15. Disconnect the Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor electrical connector.
  16. Detach the 3 wiring harness retainers from the LH valve cover studs.
  17. Remove the bolt and position the oil level indicator tube aside.
  18. Remove the 8 bolts, 2 stud bolts and LH valve cover. Remove and discard the gaskets. NOTE: Do not use metal scrapers, wire brushes, power abrasive discs or other abrasive means to clean the sealing surfaces. These tools cause scratches and gouges which make leak paths. Use a plastic scraping tool to remove all traces of old sealant. Clean the mating surfaces with silicone gasket remover and metal surface prep. Follow the directions on the packaging. Inspect the mating surfaces.

  4. Position the oil level indicator tube and install the bolt. Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
  5. Attach the 3 wiring harness retainers to the LH valve cover studs.
  6. Connect the CMP sensor electrical connector.
  7. Install the LH radio interference capacitor and nut. Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
  8. Connect the fuel supply tube. For additional information, refer to «FUEL SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION»(ref-439829) article.
  9. Connect the 4 LH fuel injector electrical connectors.
  10. Using a new gasket, install the TB and spacer assembly and the 4 bolts. Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
  11. Connect the EVAP canister purge valve tube to the TB spacer. For additional information, refer to «FUEL SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION»(ref-439829) article.
  12. Connect the EVAP purge valve electrical connector.
  13. Connect the brake booster vacuum hose to the TB spacer.
  14. Connect the electronic throttle control electrical connector.
  15. Connect the TP sensor electrical connector.
  16. Install the LH ignition coils. For additional information, refer to «IGNITION SYSTEM - 5.4L (4V)»(ref-439826) article.
  17. Install the ACL assembly and ACL outlet pipe. For additional information, refer to «INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM & INTAKE AIR FILTERING SYSTEM»(ref-439816) article.
  18. Install the power brake booster. For additional information, refer to «POWER BRAKE SYSTEM ACTUATION»(ref-439808) article.
  19. Connect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to «BATTERY, MOUNTING & BATTERY CABLES»(ref-439815) article.

  1. Lubricate the engine front cover and the crankshaft front seal inner lip with clean engine oil.
  2. Using the Crankshaft Vibration Damper Installer, Front Cover Oil Seal Installer and the Crankshaft Front Oil Seal Installer, install the crankshaft front seal.

  1. Compress each tensioner plunger, using an edge of a vise.
  2. Using a small screwdriver or pick, push back and hold the ratchet mechanism.
  3. While holding the ratchet mechanism, push the ratchet arm back into the tensioner housing.
  4. Install a suitable pin into the hole of each tensioner housing to hold the ratchet assembly and plunger in place during installation. Remove the tensioner from the vise.
  5. If the colored links are not visible, mark one link on one end and 2 links on the other end, and use as timing marks.
  6. Using the Crankshaft Holding Tool, position the crankshaft.
  7. Install the crankshaft sprocket with the flange facing forward.
  8. Install the LH primary timing chain guide and the 2 bolts. Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
  9. Position the camshaft sprocket timing marks as shown in illustration.
  10. Position the LH (inner) timing chain onto the crankshaft sprocket, aligning the one colored link on the timing chain with the slot on the crankshaft sprocket.
  11. Install the LH timing chain on the camshaft sprocket, aligning the 2 colored links with the timing mark on the sprocket.
  12. Install the LH primary timing chain tensioner arm.
  13. Install the LH primary timing chain tensioner and the 2 bolts. Tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft). Remove the pin from the tensioner.
  14. Install the RH primary timing chain guide and the 2 bolts. Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
  15. Position the RH (outer) timing chain on the crankshaft sprocket, aligning the colored link with the timing marks on the sprocket.
  16. Install the RH timing chain on the camshaft sprocket, aligning the 2 colored links with the timing mark on the sprocket.
  17. Install the RH primary timing chain tensioner arm.
  18. Install the RH primary timing chain tensioner and the 2 bolts. Tighten to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft). Remove the pin from the tensioner.
  19. As a post-check, verify correct alignment of all timing marks. Make sure that the colored links are lined up with the marks on the crankshaft sprocket and the camshaft sprockets.
  20. Install the crankshaft washer.
  21. Install the crankshaft sensor ring.
  22. Install the engine front cover. For additional information, refer to «ENGINE FRONT COVER»(ref-439772-S25074795952011120900000) in this service information.
  23. Install the camshaft roller followers. For additional information, refer to «VALVE TRAIN COMPONENTS - EXPLODED VIEW»(ref-439772-S07823787872011120900000) and «CAMSHAFT ROLLER FOLLOWER»(ref-439772-S40791048912011120900000) in this service information.

Removal and Installation

  1. Depending on which cylinder head is being serviced, remove the RH or LH valve cover. For additional information, refer to «VALVE COVER - RH»(ref-439772-S01681212042011120900000) or «VALVE COVER - LH»(ref-439772-S42567470922011120900000) in this service information.
  2. Position the camshaft lobe at base circle.
  3. Using the Valve Spring Compressor, compress the valve spring and remove the roller follower.
  4. Repeat the previous 2 steps to remove each of the roller followers. Inspect the roller followers. For additional information, refer to «ENGINE MECHANICAL SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION»(ref-439783) article.
  5. To install, reverse the removal procedure. Lubricate each of the roller followers with clean engine oil prior to installation.

  2. Remove the hydraulic lash adjusters. Inspect the hydraulic lash adjusters. For additional information, refer to «ENGINE MECHANICAL SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION»(ref-439783) article.
  3. To install, reverse the removal procedure. Lubricate each of the hydraulic lash adjusters with clean engine oil prior to installation.

  1. Depending on the valve being serviced, remove the RH or LH valve cover. For additional information, refer to «VALVE COVER - RH»(ref-439772-S01681212042011120900000) or «VALVE COVER - LH»(ref-439772-S42567470922011120900000) in this service information.
  2. Remove the spark plug. For additional information, refer to «IGNITION SYSTEM - 5.4L (4V)»(ref-439826) article.
  3. Rotate the crankshaft until the piston for the valve being serviced is at the top of its stroke with both the intake valve and the exhaust valve closed.
  4. Using the Valve Spring Compressor, compress the valve spring and remove the camshaft roller follower.
  5. Use compressed air in the cylinder to hold the valves in position. Apply a minimum of 965 kPa (140 psi) of compressed air into the cylinder.
  6. Install the Valve Spring Compressor Spacer between the valve spring coils to protect the valve seal from damage.
  7. Using the Valve Spring Compressor, compress the valve spring and remove the valve spring retainer keys, the valve spring retainer and the valve spring.
  8. Inspect the components. For additional information, refer to «ENGINE MECHANICAL SYSTEM - GENERAL INFORMATION»(ref-439783) article.
  9. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

  1. Using the Valve Spring Compressor and the Valve Stem Oil Seal Installer, install a new valve seal.
  2. Install the Valve Spring Compressor Spacer between the valve spring coils to protect the valve stem seal from damage.
  3. Using the Valve Spring Compressor, install the valve spring, the valve spring retainer and the valve spring retainer keys.
  4. Using the Valve Spring Compressor, compress the valve spring and install the camshaft roller follower.
  5. Install the spark plug. For additional information, refer to «IGNITION SYSTEM - 5.4L (4V)»(ref-439826) article.
  6. Depending on the valve being serviced, install the RH or LH valve cover. For additional information, refer to «VALVE COVER - RH»(ref-439772-S01681212042011120900000) or «VALVE COVER - LH»(ref-439772-S42567470922011120900000) in this service information.
  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to «JACKING & LIFTING»(ref-439777) article.
  2. Remove the Evaporative Emission (EVAP) canister purge valve. For additional information, refer to «EVAPORATIVE EMISSIONS SYSTEM»(ref-439833) article.
  3. Remove the 2 dash boot nuts.
  4. Remove the catalytic converter. For additional information, refer to «EXHAUST SYSTEM»(ref-439784) article.
  5. Disconnect the LH Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) electrical connector.
  6. Remove and discard the engine oil filter.
  7. Using a suitable holding device, hold the steering wheel in the straight-ahead position.
  8. Remove the upper bolt from the intermediate steering shaft and position the intermediate steering shaft aside.
  9. Remove the 8 nuts and the LH exhaust manifold. Discard the nuts and gaskets.

  11. Remove and discard the 8 LH exhaust manifold studs.

  1. Clean the exhaust manifold mating surface of the cylinder head with metal surface prep. Follow the directions on the packaging.
  2. Install 8 new LH exhaust manifold studs. Tighten to 12 Nm (106 lb-in).
  3. Install new gaskets, the LH exhaust manifold and 8 new nuts. Tighten in the sequence shown in illustration to 20 Nm (177 lb-in).
  4. Install the intermediate steering shaft and the upper bolt. Tighten to 47 Nm (35 lb-ft).
  5. Install a new engine oil filter. Lubricate the oil filter gasket with clean engine oil and tighten until the seal makes contact. Using an oil filter strap wrench, tighten the filter an additional 270 degrees.
  6. Connect the LH HO2S electrical connector.
  7. Install the catalytic converter. For additional information, refer to «EXHAUST SYSTEM»(ref-439784) article.
  8. Install the 2 dash boot nuts. Tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).

  2. Remove the 2 dash boot nuts.
  3. Using a suitable holding device, hold the steering wheel in the straight-ahead position.
  4. Remove the battery and tray. For additional information, refer to «BATTERY, MOUNTING & BATTERY CABLES»(ref-439815) article.
  5. Remove the Air Cleaner (ACL) outlet pipe. For additional information, refer to «INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM & INTAKE AIR FILTERING SYSTEM»(ref-439816) article.
  6. Remove the power brake booster. For additional information, refer to «POWER BRAKE SYSTEM ACTUATION»(ref-439808) article.
  7. Install the Engine Lifting Bracket.
  8. Install the Engine Lifting Bracket.
  9. Remove the LH and RH engine support insulator nuts.
  10. Install the Engine Support Bars and raise the engine.
  11. Drain the engine oil. Tighten the drain plug to 26 Nm (19 lb-ft).
  12. Remove the 4 nuts and the rear subframe cross brace.
  13. Loosen the 2 crossmember brace nuts.
  14. Remove the 6 bolts and remove the crossmember brace.
  15. Position 2 adjustable jackstands under the subframe.
  16. Remove the upper bolt from the intermediate steering shaft.
  17. Mark the position of the 4 subframe nuts and 4 subframe bolts for referencing during assembly.
  18. Remove the 4 subframe nuts and 4 subframe bolts.
  19. Detach the 3 wiring harness retainers from the oil pan.
  20. Remove the 2 nuts and the 2 wire harness retainer brackets from the oil pan stud bolts.
  21. Remove the lower bellhousing LH stud bolt.
  22. Using the adjustable jackstands, lower the subframe 100 mm (3.937 in).
  23. Remove the 3 stud bolts, the 13 bolts and the oil pan.
  24. Remove the 3 bolts and the oil pump screen and pickup tube. Remove and discard the O-ring seal.
  25. Remove and inspect the oil pan baffle and gasket, replace as necessary.

  1. Clean and inspect the mating surfaces of the engine block and oil pan.
  2. Apply an 8 mm (0.31 in) bead of Motorcraft® High Performance Engine RTV Silicone to the crankshaft rear seal retainer plate-to-cylinder block sealing surfaces and the engine front cover-to-cylinder block sealing surfaces.
  3. Position the oil pan baffle and gasket.
  4. Using a new O-ring seal, install the oil pump screen and pickup tube and the 3 bolts. Tighten the 2 oil pump screen and pickup tube-to-oil pump bolts. Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
  5. Tighten the oil pump screen and pickup tube-to-spacer bolt to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
  6. Install the oil pan, 13 bolts and 3 stud bolts. Tighten in the sequence shown in illustration to 25 Nm (18 lb-ft).
  7. Install the lower bellhousing LH stud bolt. Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
  8. Install the 2 wire harness retainer brackets on the oil pan stud bolts and install the 2 nuts. Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb-in).
  9. Attach the 3 wiring harness retainers to the oil pan stud bolts.
  10. Using the adjustable jackstand, raise the subframe. Install the steering intermediate shaft into the steering coupler.
  11. Position the intermediate steering shaft and install the upper bolt. Tighten to 47 Nm (35 lb-ft).
  12. Install the 4 subframe nuts and 4 subframe bolts.
  13. Align the subframe nuts and bolts with the reference marks made during removal. Tighten the nuts to 115 Nm (85 lb-ft). Tighten the bolts to 115 Nm (85 lb-ft).
  14. Install the subframe rear cross brace and the 4 nuts. Tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).
  15. Install the 4 subframe front cross brace bolts. Tighten to 48 Nm (35 lb-ft).
  16. Using the Engine Support Bars, lower the engine onto the engine support insulators.
  17. Install the LH and RH engine support insulator nuts. Tighten to 63 Nm (46 lb-ft).
  18. Install the power brake booster. For additional information, refer to «POWER BRAKE SYSTEM ACTUATION»(ref-439808) article.
  19. Install the ACL outlet pipe. For additional information, refer to «INTAKE AIR DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM & INTAKE AIR FILTERING SYSTEM»(ref-439816) article.
  20. Install the battery and tray. For additional information, refer to «BATTERY, BATTERY MOUNTING SYSTEM & BATTERY CABLES»(ref-439815) article.
  21. Fill the engine with clean engine oil.
  22. Install the dash boot and the 2 nuts. Tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in).

  2. Remove the 8 flywheel bolts.
  3. Remove the flywheel. Install 2 of the removed flywheel bolts in the 2 holes shown in illustration on the flywheel flange. Tighten the 2 bolts evenly to push the flywheel off the crankshaft pilot.

  2. Remove the 2 dash boot nuts. To install, tighten to 9 Nm (80 lb-in). All engine support insulators
  3. Using a suitable holding device, hold the steering wheel in the straight-ahead position.

  6. Install the Engine Lifting Bracket.
  7. Install the Engine Lifting Bracket.
  8. Install the Engine Support Bars. Remove the LH and RH engine support insulator nuts. To install, tighten to 63 Nm (46 lb-ft). Using the Engine Support Bars, raise the engine. RH engine support insulator
  9. Remove the 2 RH engine support insulator-to-subframe bolts and the RH engine support insulator. To install, tighten to 55 Nm (41 lb-ft). LH engine support insulator
  10. Remove the upper bolt from the intermediate steering shaft and position the intermediate steering shaft aside. To install, tighten to 47 Nm (35 lb-ft).
  11. Remove the 4 bolts and the LH engine support bracket. To install, tighten to 80 Nm (59 lb-ft).
  12. Remove and discard the engine oil filter. To install, lubricate the oil filter gasket with clean engine oil and tighten until the seal makes contact. Using a suitable oil filter strap wrench, tighten the filter an additional 270 degrees.
  13. Remove the 2 LH engine support insulator-to-subframe bolts and the LH engine support insulator. To install, tighten to 55 Nm (41 lb-ft). All engine support insulators
  14. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
