Pinpoint Test B

B2 BCM
  1. NOTE: If installing a new BCM , verify at least 2 of the vehicle keys are available prior to carrying out this procedure.
  2. NOTE: For a job aid on programming the BCM ; from the OASIS tab, select the Service Tips>Job Aids> BCM Programming.
  3. NOTE: If installing a new module, it is necessary to upload the module configuration information to the scan tool prior to removing the module. This information must be downloaded into the new module after installation.
  4. Upload the module configuration information from the BCM into the scan tool by following the scan tool on-screen instructions. For additional information

Installation

Pinpoint Test B

B1 BCM
  1. NOTE: If installing a new BCM , the ignition cannot be turned on until a parameter reset is performed and 2 keys are programmed to the vehicle. The BCM still communicates with the scan tool with the ignition off. Use the previous scan tool session or start a scan tool session using the PCM part number or tear tag number located on the PCM.
  2. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
B2 BCM
  1. NOTE: Carry out Steps 2- 13 only if installing a new BCM .
  2. NOTE: Low vehicle battery state of charge can affect proper module programming. Battery state of charge can be monitored on the scan tool. A red battery icon would indicate low vehicle battery state of charge.
  3. Using the previous diagnostic scan tool session, carry out the PMI procedure for the BCM .
B4 BCM
  1. NOTE: If a diagnostic scan tool is connected to the internet, it will automatically obtain As-Built data. If a diagnostic scan tool is not connected to the internet, obtain the As-Built data from Professional Technician Society (PTS) OASIS. Download the As-Built data to the scan tool or other storage device, such as a flash drive, following the on-screen instructions.
  2. Using the scan tool, select Tool Box/Module Programming/Programmable Parameters/Car Configuration Parameter (s)/Vehicle Configuration/Retrieve PTS Derived As-built Data. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the as-built data into the BCM .

B8 PATS
  1. NOTE: PATS security access will need to be granted again.
  2. Select parameter reset BCM and PCM. Follow the on-screen instructions.
B12 BCM
B13 PCM
  1. NOTE: This step only applies to C-MAX Energi.
  2. Perform a PCM Keep Alive Memory (KAM) reset by following the scan tool on screen instructions.
