PINPOINT TEST A: DTC U0140:00
- A1 VERIFY THE CUSTOMER CONCERN Ignition ON. Verify there is an observable symptom present. Is an observable symptom present? Yes : GO to A2 No : The system is operating normally at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
- A2 CHECK THE COMMUNICATION NETWORK Ignition ON. Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform a network test. Does the BCM pass the network test? Yes : GO to A3 No : REFER to: «COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK»(ref-539150-S37025137172013040100000) (418-00 Module Communications Network, Diagnosis and Testing).
- A3 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) FROM THE RFA (REMOTE FUNCTION ACTUATOR) MODULE SELF-TEST Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the RFA module self-test. Is DTC U3003:62 recorded? Yes : GO to «PINPOINT TEST B»(ref-539156-S17307555842013040100000) No : GO to A4
- A4 RETRIEVE THE RECORDED DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) FROM THE BCM (BODY CONTROL MODULE) SELF-TEST Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the BCM self-test. Is DTC U3003:16 or U3003:17 recorded? Yes : REFER to: «BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM)»(ref-539156-S41137669962013040100000) (419-10 Multifunction Electronic Modules, Diagnosis and Testing). No : GO to A5
- A5 RECHECK THE RFA (REMOTE FUNCTION ACTUATOR) MODULE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) NOTE: If new modules were installed prior to the DTC being set, the module configuration may be incorrectly set during the Programmable Module Installation (PMI) or the Programmable Module Installation (PMI) may not have been carried out. Clear the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). Wait 10 seconds. Using a diagnostic scan tool, perform the RFA module self-test. Is DTC U0140:00 still present? Yes : GO to A6 No : The system is operating correctly at this time. The DTC may have been set due to high network traffic or an intermittent fault condition.
- A6 CHECK FOR DTC (DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE) U0140:00 SET IN OTHER MODULES NOTE: If new modules were installed prior to the DTC being set, the module configuration may be incorrectly set during the Programmable Module Installation (PMI) or the Programmable Module Installation (PMI) may not have been carried out. Clear all Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). Ignition OFF. Ignition ON. Wait 10 seconds. Using a diagnostic scan tool, retrieve all Continuous Memory Diagnostic Trouble Codes (CMDTCs). Is DTC U0140:00 set in the IPC ? Yes : INSTALL a new RFA module.
