  1. Refer to: Health and Safety Precautions ( «HEALTH AND SAFETY PRECAUTIONS»(ref-515929-S17418754162012120400000) ).
  2. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting - Overview ( «JACKING AND LIFTING - OVERVIEW»(ref-515942-S20089493392012120400000) ).
  3. Remove the RH wheel and tire. Refer to: «WHEEL AND TIRE»(ref-515954-S31153114622012120400000) .
  4. Remove the RH front fender splash shield. Refer to: «FENDER SPLASH SHIELD»(ref-515949-S09347435982012120400000) .
  5. Disconnect the CKP electrical connector.
  6. Turn the crankshaft until piston no. 1 is 45 degrees BTDC by using the guide holes on the engine front cover and the crankshaft pulley.
  7. Turn the crankshaft clockwise until the crankshaft contacts the special tool. Install the Special Tool(s) : 303-507 (Timing Peg, Crankshaft TDC)
  8. Install a 6 mm x 18 mm bolt through the crankshaft pulley TDC guide hole and into the engine front cover TDC guide hole.

  1. NOTE: Do not tighten the bolts at this time.
  2. Special Tool(s) : 303-1521 (Alignment Tool, Crankshaft Position Sensor) Torque : 7 Nm
  3. Connect the CKP electrical connector.
  4. Remove the 6 mm x 18 mm bolt.
  5. Remove the special tool and install the cylinder block plug. Remove the Special Tool(s) : 303-507 (Timing Peg, Crankshaft TDC) Torque : 20 Nm
  6. Install the RH front fender splash shield. Refer to: «FENDER SPLASH SHIELD»(ref-515949-S09347435982012120400000) .
  7. Install the RH wheel and tire. Refer to: «WHEEL AND TIRE»(ref-515954-S31153114622012120400000) .

  2. Refer to: «FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE»(ref-515980-S25956436352012120400000) .
  3. Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to: «BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT»(ref-515950-S24980559872012120400000) .
  4. NOTE: During repair procedure, cleanliness is extremely important. Any foreign material, including any material created while cleaning or removing components that enters the fuel supply passages may cause engine failure. NOTE: Use compressed air to remove any foreign material from around the Fuel Rail Pressure (FRP) sensor area before removal.

  1. Install the Fuel Rail Pressure (FRP) sensor and tighten in the following 5 stages: Material : Motorcraft® SAE 5W-20 Premium Synthetic Blend Motor Oil / XO-5W20-QSP (WSS-M2C945-A)
  2. Stage 1 Torque : 6 Nm
  3. Stage 2 Angle : 5
  4. Stage 3 Loosen : 90°
  5. Stage 4 Torque : 6 Nm
  6. Stage 5 Angle : 21
  7. Connect the battery ground cable. Refer to: «BATTERY DISCONNECT AND CONNECT»(ref-515950-S24980559872012120400000) .
