Removal and Installation
- Remove the components in the order listed in the following illustration and table. To remove individual components, carry out only the following steps
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Check the active restraint system for correct operation. For additional information, refer to «AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS»(ref-160412) .
Item 3: Rear Seat 40 Percent Riser-to-Floor Nuts Removal Note
- With the seat in the normal sitting position lift the seat cushion up for access to the rear seat attachment fasteners.
Item 8: Rear Seat 60 Percent Riser-to-Floor Nut Removal Note
- With the seat in the normal sitting position lift the seat cushion up for access to the rear seat attachment fasteners.
Item 11: 60 Percent Seat Removal Note
- When removing and installing the 60 percent seat make sure the safety belt buckles are in the down position.

- Remove the components in the order listed in the following illustration and table.

Item 3: Rear Seat 20 Percent Riser-to-Floor Bolts Removal Note
- Fold both of the 40 percent seats up to the E-Z entry position.
- Remove the two side bolts (one shown).
Item 4: Rear Seat 20 Percent Riser-to-Floor Bolts Removal Note
- Remove the two rear bolts (one shown).
Item 3: Rear Seat 20 Percent Riser-to-Floor Bolts Installation Note
- Install the two side bolts.
- Fold both of the 40 percent seats back to the upright position.
Item 3: Rear Seat 40 Percent E-Z Entry Riser-to-Floor Bolts Removal Note
- Fold the affected 40 percent seat up to the E-Z entry position.
- Remove the three seat riser-to-floor bolts.

- Remove the components in the order listed in the following illustrations and table.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.

- Release the two levers located at the lower outboard edges of the seat cushion, lift the cushion up and pull the cushion out.

- Fold the third row seat backrest down and remove the rear load floor panel.
- Access the backrest to floor attachments. Release the trim fabric hook and loop fasteners. Remove the wheel jack storage cover.
- Remove the jack assembly.
- Remove the two outer load floor support panel bolts and the load floor support panel.

| WARNING | The safety belt pretensioner is a pyrotechnic device. Never probe a pretensioner electrical connector. Doing so could result in pretensioner or air bag deployment and could result in personal injury. |

- Disconnect the battery ground cable (14301) and wait at least one minute. For additional information, refer to «BATTERY AND CHARGING SYSTEM»(ref-194056) .
- Deactivate the supplemental restraint system (SRS). For additional information, refer to «SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) DEACTIVATION AND REACTIVATION»(ref-194073-S19667300182005092600000) .
- Remove the front seat. For additional information, refer to «DRIVER SEAT»(ref-194073-S00989977392005092600000) .
- Disassemble the components in the order listed in the following illustration and table. To remove individual components, carry out only the following steps
- To assemble, reverse the disassembly procedure.
- Connect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to «BATTERY AND CHARGING SYSTEM»(ref-194056) .
- Remove the restraint system diagnostic tool from the vehicle harness side of the front safety belt buckle pretensioner electrical connector.
- Connect the front safety belt buckle pretensioner electrical connector.
- With the restraint system diagnostic tools installed at the remaining deployable devices, prove out the supplemental restraint system (SRS). For additional information, refer to «AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS»(ref-160412) .
- Disconnect the battery ground cable and wait at least one minute. For additional information, refer to «BATTERY AND CHARGING SYSTEM»(ref-194056) .
- Reactivate the supplemental restraint system (SRS). For additional information, refer to «SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM (SRS) DEACTIVATION AND REACTIVATION»(ref-194073-S19667300182005092600000) .
- Connect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to «BATTERY AND CHARGING SYSTEM»(ref-194056) .
- With all the restraint system diagnostic tools removed, prove out the supplemental restraint system (SRS). For additional information, refer to «AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS»(ref-160412) .
