Engine Emission Control System: Other Ford Expedition III

Removal & Installation 2 illustrations

PCV System

The PCV system

  1. uses intake manifold vacuum to ventilate blow-by gases from the crankcase.
  2. returns the gases to the intake manifold for combustion.

The PCV valve

  1. varies the amount of blow-by gases returned to the intake manifold based on available engine vacuum.
  2. is integral to the LH valve cover.
