1. Remove the transfer case rear output shaft flange. For additional information, refer to «OUTPUT FLANGE»(ref-232190-S10129327142006051600000) .
2. Remove the transfer case rear output shaft oil (pinion) seal.

1. Using the special tool, install the transfer case rear output shaft oil (pinion) seal.
2. Install the transfer case rear output shaft flange. For additional information, refer to «OUTPUT FLANGE»(ref-232190-S10129327142006051600000) .

1. Remove the PTU from the vehicle. For additional information, refer to «POWER TRANSFER UNIT (PTU) - AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE»(ref-232190-S21390762642006051600000) or «POWER TRANSFER UNIT (PTU) - MANUAL TRANSAXLE»(ref-232190-S24445789582006051600000) .
2. Using the special tools, remove the outer input seal.
3. Remove the dust cover and the halfshaft seal.
4. Remove the dust cover and the output seal.
5. Remove the PTU vent tube.
6. Remove the PTU cover bolts and the PTU cover, then remove the gears.
7. Remove the inner input seal.
8. Clean the PTU sealing surface.
