Heated Seats
There are 2 heated seat systems. Early build vehicles use a module based system. Late build vehicles will not have a module.
This system allows the electrical heating of the front seats on demand.
The components of the system are
- the seat heating elements located in the seat cushion and backrest.
- the heated seat module located on the seat cushion pan (early build vehicles).
- the heated seat control switch, located on the outboard seat cushion side shield.
- temperature sensors located in the seat cushion heating elements (early build vehicles).
- a bi-metallic thermostat that is part of the seat cushion heating elements (late build vehicles).
Side Air Bags
Note. Depending on the vehicle build date, some vehicles that are not equipped with the side impact protection safety package (safety canopies and side air bags) option may or may not be equipped with bridge resistor(s) and the associated wiring.
The driver and passenger side air bags are attached to the seat backrest frame. For additional information, or if the side air bag(s) has(have) been deployed, refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM .
Front seat backrest trim covers installed on seats with side air bags can not be repaired. The front seat backrest trim covers are to be installed new. Cleaning of the trim covers is permissible.
If a side air bag deployment has taken place, install a new seat backrest cushion, trim cover and side air bag module. Install a new seat backrest frame if necessary.
Occupant Classification Sensor (OCS)
| CAUTION | It is necessary to rezero the OCS system when a front passenger seat cushion is disassembled, a new trim cover installed, or an OCS service kit is installed. A diagnostic tool is used to trigger the active command to carry out rezeroing of the OCS system. |
Note. There was a change to the OCS ECU dependent on the vehicle build date. The OCS ECU will have either a 10-pin connector (early build) or an 18-pin connector (late build). When installing a new OCS service kit, always make sure the correct OCS service kit is being installed. The early build/late build OCS service kits are not interchangeable.
The OCS is standard equipment on all front passenger seats. The OCS system components (seat cushion foam pad, bladder with pressure sensor and electronic control unit) are calibrated to each other and are only repaired as an assembly. OCS system components are not to be installed separately. If installing a new OCS system, OCS system component or seat cushion foam pad, a new OCS system service kit (seat cushion foam pad, bladder with pressure sensor and electronic control unit) must be installed as an assembly. For additional information on diagnosing or servicing the OCS, refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM .

Power Seat (Driver Only)
The 6-way power seat feature moves the seat in 6 possible directions. The base of the seat can be moved forward or rearward and the front or back of the base cushion can be moved up or down independently. The power seat feature operates independent of the position of the key.
The power seat motors are hard-wired to the seat control switch. The seat control switch circuits are normally closed. Each circuit is switched to voltage or ground (depending on which direction is commanded) when an adjustment position is selected.
Heated Seats - Early Build
The driver and front passenger heated seats share a common battery and ignition feed. A shared ground source supplies the heated seat control switches and the heated seat modules. When the heated seat control switch is pressed with the key in the RUN or START position, a momentary ground signal is sent to the heated seat module. The heated seat module then supplies voltage to the heating element. The cushion element and seat backrest element are wired in series and voltage is supplied by the same output. The heated seat module supplies voltage to an indicator circuit in the heated seat switch to indicate an ON state. The heated seat module remains on until the heated seat control switch is pressed and a momentary ground signal is received by the heated seat module, or until 10 minutes elapse. If the voltage source is removed from the module, the heated seat module enters an OFF state and does not return to the ON state until the switch is once again pressed with the key in the RUN or START position. The heated seat module is designed to heat the seat to 40°C (104°F), and maintain the temperature until time-out occurs, or until it is switched off. This temperature is maintained by the heated seat module monitoring the temperature sensor, located in the seat cushion element, and adjusting the current flow to the heating elements.
Heated Seats - Late Build
The driver and passenger heated seats share a common ignition feed via the heated seat relay. The heated seat relay is energized when the ignition is ON. A shared ground source supplies the heated seat control switches and the heated seat elements. The heated seat control switches are a latching-type switch; continuity through the switch will remain, regardless if voltage is supplied to the switch or not, until the switch is pressed to place it in the OFF setting. When the heated seat control switch is pressed with the ignition switch in RUN or START, voltage is supplied to the bi-metallic thermostat that is part of the seat cushion element. The seat cushion element and seat backrest element are wired in series and powered by the same output of the bi-metallic thermostat that is part of the seat cushion element. The cushion element and seat backrest element are wired in series and powered by the same output. The heated seat will remain on until the heated seat control switch is pressed and voltage is no longer supplied to the bi-metallic thermostat. If the ignition source is removed from the heated seat, the heated seat system will return to ON with the ignition switch in the RUN state until the switch is pressed. The heated seat system is designed to maintain the temperature by the opening (no voltage to the heated seat elements) and closing (voltage supplied to the heated seat elements) of the bi-metallic thermostat.

NOTE: The air bag warning lamp illuminates when the restraint control module (RCM) fuse is removed and the key is in the ON position. This is normal operation and does not indicate an SRS fault. NOTE: The SRS must be fully operational and free of faults before releasing the vehicle to the customer. Key in OFF position. Depower the SRS. Refer to Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering and Repowering in the General Procedures portion of «SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM»(ref-232255) . For vehicles equipped with seat side air bags, carry out the following: Disconnect the driver seat side air bag C367. Connect the restraint system diagnostic tool 418-133. Disconnect the driver safety belt pretensioner electrical connector at the pretensioner. WARNING: Make certain no one is in the vehicle and there is nothing blocking or placed in front of any air bag module when the battery is connected. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury. Connect the battery. Refer to «BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES»(ref-232248) . Disconnect: Seat Control Switch C352. Measure the resistance between the seat control switch C352-E, circuit 57 (BK) harness side and ground. Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? Yes : GO to A2. No : REPAIR the circuit. DISCONNECT the battery. If equipped, REMOVE the restraint system diagnostic tool and CONNECT the driver seat side air bag connector. CONNECT the driver safety belt pretensioner electrical connector. REPOWER the supplemental restraint system (SRS). REFER to «SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM»(ref-232255) . TEST the system for normal operation.
- A2 CHECK THE VOLTAGE TO THE SEAT CONTROL SWITCH For vehicles equipped with seat side air bags, carry out the following: Disconnect the driver seat side air bag C367. Connect the restraint system diagnostic tool 418-133. Disconnect the driver safety belt pretensioner electrical connector at the pretensioner. WARNING: Make certain no one is in the vehicle and there is nothing blocking or placed in front of any air bag module when the battery is connected. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury. Connect the battery. Refer to «BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES»(ref-232248) . Measure the voltage between the seat control switch C352-H, circuit 171 (BK/WH) harness side and ground. Is the voltage greater than 10 volts? Yes : INSTALL a new seat control switch. REFER to «SEAT CONTROL SWITCH»(ref-232285-S37505873082006051600000) . DISCONNECT the battery. If equipped, REMOVE the restraint system diagnostic tool and CONNECT the driver seat side air bag connector. CONNECT the driver safety belt pretensioner electrical connector. REPOWER the supplemental restraint system (SRS). REFER to «SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM»(ref-232255) . TEST the system for normal operation. No : REPAIR the circuit. DISCONNECT the battery. - E2 CHECK THE VERTICAL OPERATION Operate the seat control switch in the front tilt and rear tilt (vertical) directions. Does the seat operate in the front tilt (vertical) direction? Yes : GO to E3. No : GO to E7 .
- E3 CHECK THE VOLTAGE TO CIRCUIT 1474 (RD/LG) Disconnect: Seat Motors C353. While operating the seat control switch to the REAR UP position, measure the voltage between the seat motor C353-2 circuit 1474 (RD/LG), harness side and ground. Is the voltage greater than 10 volts? Yes : GO to E5 . No : GO to E4.
- E4 CHECK CIRCUIT 1474 (RD/LG) FOR AN OPEN Disconnect: Seat Control Switch C352. Measure the resistance between the seat control switch C352-C circuit 1474 (RD/LG), harness side and the seat motors C353-2 circuit 1474 (RD/LG), harness side. Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? Yes : INSTALL a new seat control switch. DISCONNECT the battery. If equipped, REMOVE the restraint system diagnostic tool and CONNECT the driver seat side air bag connector. CONNECT the driver safety belt pretensioner electrical connector. REPOWER the supplemental restraint system (SRS). REFER to «SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM»(ref-232255) . TEST the system for normal operation. No : REPAIR the circuit. DISCONNECT the battery. If equipped, REMOVE the restraint system diagnostic tool and CONNECT the driver seat side air bag connector. - E5 CHECK THE VOLTAGE TO CIRCUIT 1473 (YE/LG) While operating the seat to the REAR DOWN position, measure the voltage between the seat motors C353-3 circuit 1473 (YE/LG), harness and ground. Is the voltage greater than 10 volts? Yes : INSTALL a new front seat track motor assembly. REFER to «FRONT SEAT TRACK MOTOR»(ref-232285-S26915188792006051600000) . DISCONNECT the battery. If equipped, REMOVE the restraint system diagnostic tool and CONNECT the driver seat side air bag connector. CONNECT the driver safety belt pretensioner electrical connector. REPOWER the supplemental restraint system (SRS). REFER to «SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM»(ref-232255) . TEST the system for normal operation. No : GO to E6.
- E6 CHECK CIRCUIT 1473 (YE/LG) FOR AN OPEN Disconnect: Seat Control Switch C352. Measure the resistance between the seat control switch C352-D circuit 1473 (YE/LG), harness side and the seat motor 3353-3 circuit 1473 (YE/LG), harness side. Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? Yes : INSTALL a new seat control switch. REFER to «SEAT CONTROL SWITCH»(ref-232285-S37505873082006051600000) . DISCONNECT the battery. If equipped, REMOVE the restraint system diagnostic tool and CONNECT the driver seat side air bag connector. CONNECT the driver safety belt pretensioner electrical connector. REPOWER the supplemental restraint system (SRS). REFER to «SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM»(ref-232255) . TEST the system for normal operation. No : REPAIR the circuit. DISCONNECT the battery. - E7 CHECK THE VOLTAGE TO CIRCUIT 1469 (RD/LB) Disconnect: Seat Motor C353. While operating the seat to the FRONT UP position, measure the voltage between the seat motor C353-6 circuit 1469 (RD/LB), harness side and ground. Is the voltage greater than 10 volts? Yes : GO to E9 . No : GO to E8.
- E8 CHECK CIRCUIT 1469 (RD/LB) FOR AN OPEN Disconnect: Seat Control Switch C352. Measure the resistance between the seat control switch C352-A circuit 1469 (RD/LB), harness side and the seat motor C353-6 circuit 1469 (RD/LB), harness side. Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? Yes : GO to E9. No : REPAIR the circuit. DISCONNECT the battery. If equipped, REMOVE the restraint system diagnostic tool and CONNECT the driver seat side air bag connector. CONNECT the driver safety belt pretensioner electrical connector. REPOWER the supplemental restraint system (SRS). REFER to «SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM»(ref-232255) . TEST the system for normal operation.
- E9 CHECK THE VOLTAGE TO CIRCUIT 1470 (YE/LB) While operating the seat control switch to the FRONT DOWN position, measure the voltage between the seat control switch C352-B circuit 1470 (YE/LB), harness side and ground. Is the voltage greater than 10 volts? Yes : INSTALL a new front seat track motor assembly. REFER to «FRONT SEAT TRACK MOTOR»(ref-232285-S26915188792006051600000) . DISCONNECT the battery. If equipped, REMOVE the restraint system diagnostic tool and CONNECT the driver seat side air bag connector. CONNECT the driver safety belt pretensioner electrical connector. REPOWER the supplemental restraint system (SRS). REFER to «SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM»(ref-232255) . TEST the system for normal operation. No : GO to E10.
- E10 CHECK CIRCUIT 1470 (YE/LB) FOR AN OPEN Disconnect: Seat Control Switch C352. Measure the resistance between the seat control switch C352-B circuit 1470 (YE/LB), harness side and the seat motor C353-5 circuit 1470 (YE/LB), harness side. Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? Yes : INSTALL a new seat control switch. REFER to «SEAT CONTROL SWITCH»(ref-232285-S37505873082006051600000) . DISCONNECT the battery. If equipped, REMOVE the restraint system diagnostic tool and CONNECT the driver seat side air bag connector. CONNECT the driver safety belt pretensioner electrical connector. REPOWER the supplemental restraint system (SRS). REFER to «SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM»(ref-232255) . TEST the system for normal operation. No : REPAIR the circuit. DISCONNECT the battery. If equipped, REMOVE the restraint system diagnostic tool and CONNECT the driver seat side air bag connector. CONNECT the driver safety belt pretensioner electrical connector. - E11 CHECK THE VOLTAGE TO CIRCUIT 1471 (RD/WH) Disconnect: Seat Motors C353. While operating the seat control switch to the forward position, measure the voltage between the seat motors J353-4 circuit 1471 (RD/WH), harness side and ground. Is the voltage greater than 10 volts? Yes : GO to E13 . No : GO to E12.
- E12 CHECK CIRCUIT 1471 (RD/WH) FOR AN OPEN Disconnect: Seat Control Switch C352. Measure the resistance between the seat control switch C352-G circuit 1471 (RD/WH), harness side and the seat motor C353-4 circuit 1471 (RD/WH), harness side. Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? Yes : INSTALL a new seat control switch. REFER to «SEAT CONTROL SWITCH»(ref-232285-S37505873082006051600000) . DISCONNECT the battery. If equipped, REMOVE the restraint system diagnostic tool and CONNECT the driver seat side air bag connector. CONNECT the driver safety belt pretensioner electrical connector. REPOWER the supplemental restraint system (SRS). REFER to «SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM»(ref-232255) . TEST the system for normal operation. No : REPAIR the circuit. DISCONNECT the battery. If equipped, REMOVE the restraint system diagnostic tool and CONNECT the driver seat side air bag connector. CONNECT the driver safety belt pretensioner electrical connector. - E13 CHECK THE VOLTAGE TO CIRCUIT 1472 (YE/WH) While operating the seat to the REARWARD position, measure the voltage between the seat motors C353-1 circuit 1472 (YE/WH), harness and ground. Is the voltage greater than 10 volts? Yes : INSTALL a new front seat track motor assembly. REFER to «FRONT SEAT TRACK MOTOR»(ref-232285-S26915188792006051600000) . DISCONNECT the battery. If equipped, REMOVE the restraint system diagnostic tool and CONNECT the driver seat side air bag connector. CONNECT the driver safety belt pretensioner electrical connector. REPOWER the supplemental restraint system (SRS). REFER to «SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM»(ref-232255) . TEST the system for normal operation. No : GO to E14.
- E14 CHECK CIRCUIT 1472 (YE/WH) FOR AN OPEN Disconnect: Seat Control Switch C352. Measure the resistance between the seat control switch C352-F circuit 1472 (YE/WH), harness side and the seat motors C353-1 circuit 1472 (YE/WH), harness side. Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? Yes : INSTALL a new seat control switch. REFER to «SEAT CONTROL SWITCH»(ref-232285-S37505873082006051600000) . DISCONNECT the battery. If equipped, REMOVE the restraint system diagnostic tool and CONNECT the driver seat side air bag connector. CONNECT the driver safety belt pretensioner electrical connector. REPOWER the supplemental restraint system (SRS). REFER to «SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM»(ref-232255) . TEST the system for normal operation. No : REPAIR the circuit. DISCONNECT the battery. If equipped, REMOVE the restraint system diagnostic tool and CONNECT the driver seat side air bag connector. CONNECT the driver safety belt pretensioner electrical connector. REPOWER the supplemental restraint system (SRS). REFER to «SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM»(ref-232255) . TEST the system for normal operation.

Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury. Connect the battery. Refer to «BATTERY, MOUNTING AND CABLES»(ref-232248) . Disconnect: Heated Seat Module C359/C329. Key in ON position. Measure the voltage between the heated seat module C359/C329-5 circuit 1003 (GY/YE) and C359/C329-12 circuit 1153 (RD/BK), harness side and ground. Is the voltage greater than 10 volts on both pins? Yes : GO to F2. No : REPAIR the circuit(s) as necessary. DISCONNECT the battery. If equipped, REMOVE the restraint system diagnostic tool and CONNECT the driver or passenger seat side air bag connector. - F3 CHECK THE HEATED SEAT ELEMENTS FOR AN OPEN Measure the resistance between the heated seat module C359/C329-6 circuit 1064 (YE/LB), harness side and the heated seat module C359/C329-7 circuit 1067 (VT/LB), harness side. Is the resistance between 0.5 - 10 ohms? Yes : GO to F7 . No : GO to F4.
- F4 CHECK CIRCUIT 1067 (VT/LB) FOR AN OPEN Disconnect: Heated Seat Backrest Heater element Connector. Measure the resistance between the heated seat module C359/C329-7 circuit 1067 (VT/LB), harness side and the heated seat backrest element connector pin 2, circuit 1067 (BK), harness side. Is the resistance less than 5 ohms between the heated seat module and the heated seat backrest element? Yes : GO to F5. No : REPAIR the circuit. DISCONNECT the battery. If equipped, REMOVE the restraint system diagnostic tool and CONNECT the driver or passenger seat side air bag connector. CONNECT the driver or passenger safety belt pretensioner electrical connector. REPOWER the supplemental restraint system (SRS). REFER to «SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM»(ref-232255) . TEST the system for normal operation.
- F5 CHECK THE HEATED SEAT BACKREST ELEMENT Measure the resistance between the heated seat backrest element connector pin 1 (BK), component side and the heated seat backrest element connector pin 2 (BK), component side. Is the resistance between 0.5 - 10 ohms? Yes : GO to F6. No : INSTALL a new front seat backrest cushion. DISCONNECT the battery. If equipped, REMOVE the restraint system diagnostic tool and CONNECT the driver or passenger seat side air bag connector. CONNECT the driver or passenger safety belt pretensioner electrical connector. REPOWER the supplemental restraint system (SRS). REFER to «SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM»(ref-232255) . TEST the system for normal operation.
- F6 CHECK CIRCUIT 1064 (YE/LB) FOR AN OPEN Disconnect: Heated Seat Cushion element C364/C334. Measure the resistance between the heated seat module C359/C329-6 circuit 1064 (YE/LB), harness side and the heated seat cushion element C364/C334-1 circuit 1064 (YE/LB), harness side. Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? Yes : INSTALL a new heated seat cushion element. REFER to «FRONT SEAT CUSHION»(ref-232285-S38488223192006051600000) . DISCONNECT the battery. If equipped, REMOVE the restraint system diagnostic tool and CONNECT the driver or passenger seat side air bag connector. CONNECT the driver or passenger safety belt pretensioner electrical connector. REPOWER the supplemental restraint system (SRS). REFER to «SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM»(ref-232255) . - F7 CHECK THE HEATED SEAT SENSOR Measure the resistance between the heated seat module C359/C329-3 circuit 1061 (BN/LB), harness side and the heated seat module C359/C329-4 circuit 1060 (BK/LB), harness side. Is the resistance between 2 - 8 ohms? Yes : GO to F10 . No : GO to F8.
- F8 CHECK CIRCUIT 1061 (BN/LB) FOR AN OPEN OR A SHORT TO GROUND Disconnect: Heated Seat Cushion element C364/C334. Measure the resistance between the heated seat module C359/C329-3 circuit 1061 (BN/LB), harness side and the heated seat cushion element C364/C334-3 circuit 1061 (BN/LB), harness side and between the heated seat module C359/C329-3 circuit 1061 (BN/LB), harness side and ground. Is the resistance less than 5 ohms between the heated seat module and the heated seat cushion element; and greater than 10,000 ohms between the heated seat module and ground? Yes : GO to F9. No : REPAIR the circuit. DISCONNECT the battery. If equipped, REMOVE the restraint system diagnostic tool and CONNECT the driver or passenger seat side air bag connector. CONNECT the driver or passenger safety belt pretensioner electrical connector. REPOWER the supplemental restraint system (SRS). REFER to «SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM»(ref-232255) . TEST the system for normal operation.
- F9 CHECK CIRCUIT 1060 (BK/LB) FOR AN OPEN OR A SHORT TO GROUND Measure the resistance between the heated seat module C359/C329-4 circuit 1060 (BK/LB), harness side and the heated seat cushion element c364/c334-2 circuit 1060 (BK/LB), harness side and between the heated seat module C359/C329-4 circuit 1060 (BK/LB), harness side and ground. Is the resistance less than 5 ohms between the heated seat module and the heated seat cushion element; and greater than 10,000 ohms between the heated seat module and ground? Yes : INSTALL a new heated seat cushion element. REFER to «FRONT SEAT CUSHION»(ref-232285-S38488223192006051600000) . DISCONNECT the battery. If equipped, REMOVE the restraint system diagnostic tool and CONNECT the driver or passenger seat side air bag connector. CONNECT the driver or passenger safety belt pretensioner electrical connector. REPOWER the supplemental restraint system (SRS). REFER to «SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM»(ref-232255) . - F10 CHECK THE HEATED SEAT SWITCH NOTE: An analog ohmmeter (or digital ohmmeter in analog mode) must be used in this step in order to observe the momentary grounding of circuit 581 (RD) when operating the heated seat switch. Measure the resistance between the heated seat module C359/C329-8 circuit 581 (RD), harness side and ground. Observe the ohmmeter while operating the heated seat switch. Does the resistance reading drop to less than 5 ohms momentarily? Yes : GO to F13 . No : GO to F11.
- F11 CHECK THE HEATED SEAT SWITCH GROUND Disconnect: Heated Seat Switch C320/C321. Measure the resistance between the heated seat switch C320/C321-2 circuit 57 (BK), harness side and ground. Is the resistance less than 5 ohms? Yes : GO to F12. No : REPAIR the circuit. DISCONNECT the battery. If equipped, REMOVE the restraint system diagnostic tool and CONNECT the driver or passenger seat side air bag connector. CONNECT the driver or passenger safety belt pretensioner electrical connector. REPOWER the supplemental restraint system (SRS). REFER to «SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM»(ref-232255) . TEST the system for normal operation.
- F12 CHECK CIRCUIT 581 (RD) FOR AN OPEN OR SHORT TO GROUND Measure the resistance between the heated seat module C359/C329-8 circuit 581 (RD), harness side and the heated seat switch C320/C321-1 circuit 581 (RD), harness side and between the heated seat module C359/C329-8 circuit 581 (RD), harness side and ground. Is the resistance less than 5 ohms between the heated seat module and the heated seat switch; and greater than 10,000 ohms between the heated seat module and ground? Yes : INSTALL a new heated seat switch. REFER to «HEATED SEAT SWITCH»(ref-232285-S28711385372006051600000) . DISCONNECT the battery. If equipped, REMOVE the restraint system diagnostic tool and CONNECT the driver or passenger seat side air bag connector. CONNECT the driver or passenger safety belt pretensioner electrical connector. REPOWER the supplemental restraint system (SRS). REFER to «SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM»(ref-232255) . TEST the system for normal operation. No : REPAIR the circuit. DISCONNECT the battery. Check for: corrosion pushed-out pins Connect all of the heated seat module connectors and make sure they seat correctly. Operate the system and verify if the concern is still present. Is the concern still present? Yes : INSTALL a new heated seat module. REFER to «HEATED SEAT MODULE»(ref-232285-S29779517792006051600000) for the removal and installation procedure. DISCONNECT the battery. If equipped, REMOVE the restraint system diagnostic tool and CONNECT the driver or passenger seat side air bag connector. - G2 CHECK THE HEATED SEAT RELAY CIRCUITS Key in OFF position. Disconnect: Heated Seat Relay C3250. Key in ON position. Measure the voltage at heated seat relay C3250 pin 86, circuit 1003 (GY/YE), harness side and ground; and between C3250 pin 30, circuit 1153 (RD/BK), harness side and ground. Are the voltages greater than 10 volts? Yes : GO to G3. No : VERIFY smart junction box (SJB) fuse 35 (5A) and battery junction box (BJB) fuse 10 (30A) are OK. If OK, REPAIR circuit 1003 (GY/YE) or circuit 1153 (RD/BK). DISCONNECT the battery. If equipped, REMOVE the restraint system diagnostic tool and CONNECT the seat side air bag electrical connector. Do both heated seat indicators illuminate when pressed? Yes : INSTALL a new heated seat relay. DISCONNECT the battery. If equipped, REMOVE the restraint system diagnostic tool and CONNECT the seat side air bag electrical connector. CONNECT the safety belt pretensioner electrical connector.
