SET CONDITION

The Automatic Headlamp Leveling Module (AHLM) detects the Headlamp Leveling Sensor Front Signal circuit is out of range.

  1. CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC Turn the ignition on. With the scan tool, read DTCs. Does the scan tool display this DTC as active? Yes Go To 2 . No Test complete, the condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals, and correct pin tension. Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-465990-S29694203322012042300000) .
  2. (L962) HEADLAMP LEVELING SENSOR RETURN CIRCUIT SHORTED TO VOLTAGE Turn the ignition off. Disconnect the Front Headlamp Level Sensor harness connector. Disconnect the Right Front Headlamp Assembly C2 harness connector. Turn the ignition on. Measure the voltage of the (L962) Headlamp Leveling Sensor Return circuit. Is any there voltage present? Yes Repair the (L962) Headlamp Leveling Sensor Return circuit for a short to voltage. Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-465990-S29694203322012042300000) . No Go To 3 .
  3. (L961) HEADLAMP LEVELING SENSOR 5 VOLT SUPPLY CIRCUIT SHORTED TO VOLTAGE Measure the voltage of the (L961) Headlamp Leveling Sensor 5 Volt Supply circuit. Is any there voltage present? Yes Repair the (L961) Headlamp Leveling Sensor 5 Volt Supply circuit for a short to voltage. Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-465990-S29694203322012042300000) . No Go To 4 .
  4. (L960) HEADLAMP LEVELING SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORTED TO VOLTAGE Measure the voltage of the (L960) Headlamp Leveling Sensor Signal circuit. Is any there voltage present? Yes Repair the (L960) Headlamp Leveling Sensor Signal circuit for a short to voltage. Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-465990-S29694203322012042300000) . No Go To 5 .
  5. (L962) HEADLAMP LEVELING SENSOR RETURN CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND Turn the ignition off. Measure the resistance between ground and the (L962) Headlamp Leveling Sensor Return circuit. Is the resistance below 5.0 Ohms? Yes Repair the (L962) Headlamp Leveling Sensor Return circuit for a short to ground. Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-465990-S29694203322012042300000) . No Go To 6 .
  6. (L961) HEADLAMP LEVELING SENSOR 5 VOLT SUPPLY CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND Measure the resistance between ground and the (L961) Headlamp Leveling Sensor 5 Volt Supply circuit. Is the resistance below 5.0 Ohms? Yes Repair the (L961) Headlamp Leveling Sensor 5 Volt Supply circuit for a short to ground. Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-465990-S29694203322012042300000) . No Go To 7 .
  7. (L960) HEADLAMP LEVELING SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND Measure the resistance between ground and the (L960) Headlamp Leveling Sensor Signal circuit. Is the resistance below 5.0 Ohms? Yes Repair the (L960) Headlamp Leveling Sensor Signal circuit for a short to ground. Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-465990-S29694203322012042300000) . No Go To 8 .
  8. (L962) HEADLAMP LEVELING SENSOR RETURN CIRCUIT OPEN OR HIGH RESISTANCE Measure the resistance of the (L962) Headlamp Leveling Sensor Return circuit. Is the resistance above 5.0 Ohms? Yes Repair the (L962) Headlamp Leveling Sensor Return circuit for an open or high resistance. Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-465990-S29694203322012042300000) . No Go To 9 .
  9. (L961) HEADLAMP LEVELING SENSOR 5 VOLT SUPPLY CIRCUIT OPEN OR HIGH RESISTANCE Measure the resistance of the (L961) Headlamp Leveling Sensor 5 Volt Supply circuit. Is the resistance above 5.0 Ohms? Yes Repair the (L961) Headlamp Leveling Sensor 5 Volt Supply circuit for an open or high resistance. Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-465990-S29694203322012042300000) . No Go To 10 .
  10. (L960) HEADLAMP LEVELING SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT OPEN OR HIGH RESISTANCE Measure the resistance of the (L960) Headlamp Leveling Sensor Signal circuit. Is the resistance above 5.0 Ohms? Yes Repair the (L960) Headlamp Leveling Sensor Signal circuit for an open or high resistance. Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-465990-S29694203322012042300000) . No Go To 11 .
  11. FRONT HEADLAMP LEVEL SENSOR Replace the Front Headlamp Level Sensor in accordance with the Service Information. Turn the ignition on. With the scan tool, read DTCs. Does the scan tool display this DTC as active? Yes Replace the Automatic Headlamp Leveling Module (AHLM) in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to «MODULE, HEADLAMP LEVELING , REMOVAL»(ref-465939-S22349930082012042300000) . Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-465990-S29694203322012042300000) . No Test Complete.

Disconnect the Right Front Headlamp Assembly C1 harness connector. Turn the ignition on. Measure the voltage of the (L962) Headlamp Leveling Sensor Return circuit. Is any there voltage present? Yes Repair the (L962) Headlamp Leveling Sensor Return circuit for a short to voltage. Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-465990-S29694203322012042300000) . No Go To 3 .
  3. (L961) HEADLAMP LEVELING SENSOR 5 VOLT SUPPLY CIRCUIT SHORTED TO VOLTAGE Measure the voltage of the (L961) Headlamp Leveling Sensor 5 Volt Supply circuit. Is any there voltage present? Does the scan tool display this DTC as active? Yes Replace the Automatic Headlamp Leveling Module (AHLM) in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to «MODULE, HEADLAMP LEVELING , REMOVAL»(ref-465939-S22349930082012042300000) . Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-465990-S29694203322012042300000) . No Test Complete.

  3. (D503) LIN LIGHTING CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND Turn the ignition off. Measure the resistance between ground and the (D503) LIN Lighting circuit. Is the resistance below 10K Ohms? Yes Repair the (D503) LIN Lighting circuit for a short to ground. Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-465990-S29694203322012042300000) . No Go To 4 .
  4. (D503) LIN LIGHTING CIRCUIT OPEN OR HIGH RESISTANCE Measure the resistance of the (D503) LIN Lighting circuit. Is the resistance above 5.0 Ohms? Yes Repair the (D503) LIN Lighting circuit for an open or high resistance. Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-465990-S29694203322012042300000) . Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-465990-S29694203322012042300000) .
  3. REAR HEADLAMP LEVELING SENSOR Turn the ignition off. Disconnect Rear Headlamp Level Sensor. Turn the ignition on. With the scan tool, read DTCs. Does the scan tool display this DTC as active? Yes Go To 4 . No Replace Rear Headlamp Level Sensor in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to «SENSOR, AXLE , REMOVAL»(ref-465935-S36111148522012042300000) . Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-465990-S29694203322012042300000) .
  4. (L961) HEADLAMP LEVELING SENSOR 5 VOLT SUPPLY CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND Turn the ignition off. Disconnect the Right Front Headlamp Assembly C2 harness connector. Measure the resistance between ground and the (L961) Headlamp Leveling Sensor 5 Volt Supply circuit. Is the resistance below 10K Ohms? Yes Repair the short to ground on the (L961) Headlamp Leveling Sensor 5 Volt Supply circuit. Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(ref-465990-S29694203322012042300000) . No Go To 3 .

Measure the resistance of the (L961) Headlamp Leveling Sensor 5 Volt Supply circuit. Is the resistance above 5.0 Ohms?
