1. Raise and support the vehicle. NOTE: The intermediate shaft is serviced only as a complete assembly.
2. Remove left halfshaft assembly (2). Refer to «REMOVAL»(ref-481402-S26056269572012062200000) .
3. Disconnect the front axle disconnect solenoid harness connector (1).
4. Remove the 3 bolts (5), (6), (7) from the front axle disconnect solenoid, and remove the front axle disconnect solenoid (8).
5. Remove the 3 bolts (1), (2), (3) from the front axle disconnect bracket, and remove the front axle disconnect bracket (4).
6. Remove four bolts (1) from the front axle disconnect (3) and remove it from the engine

1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Disconnect the front axle disconnect solenoid harness connector (1).
3. Remove the 3 bolts (5), (6), and (7) from the front axle disconnect solenoid (8).
4. Remove the front axle disconnect solenoid (8).

1. Install the front axle disconnect (3).
2. Install and torque the four front axle disconnect-to-oil pan bolts (1) to 25 N.m (18 ft. lbs.).
3. Install the front axle disconnect solenoid (8), and the 3 bolts (5), (6) and (7).
4. Connect the front axle disconnect solenoid harness connector (1).
5. Install the front axle disconnect solenoid bracket (4), and the 3 bolts (1), (2), and (3).

1. Install the front axle disconnect solenoid (8), and the 3 bolts (5), (6), (7).
2. Connect the front axle disconnect harness connector (1).
