DIAGNOSTIC TEST

  1. CHECK FOR ACTIVE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) With the scan tool, read the active DTCs. Erase the DTCs. Turn the ignition off, wait 10 seconds, then turn the ignition on. With the scan tool, read the active DTCs. Does the scan tool display this DTC as active? Yes Go To 2 . No If the DTC is stored, check for an intermittent condition. Visually inspect the related wiring harness connectors. Look for broken, bent, pushed out, or corroded terminals, and repair any obvious problems. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(/dodge/charger/vi-2010-2014/remont/communication-devices/#body-control-module-bcm-body-verification-test) and perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST.
  2. VERIFY OPERATION OF THE VEHICLE CHARGING SYSTEM NOTE: Repair any PCM charging/cranking DTCs before proceeding with this test. NOTE: Verify the battery is fully charged. Are any charging system DTCs present? Yes Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(/dodge/charger/vi-2010-2014/remont/communication-devices/#body-control-module-bcm-body-verification-test) and perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. No Go To 3 .
  3. CHECK THE VSIM Turn the ignition off. Disconnect all VSIM and aftermarket light/siren controller harness connectors. Check for damaged or corroded pins, pinched wires, or damaged connectors, and repair any obvious problems. Connect all VSIM and aftermarket light/siren controller harness connectors. Is B210E-BATTERY VOLTAGE HIGH still displayed? Yes Replace the VSIM in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(/dodge/charger/vi-2010-2014/remont/communication-devices/#body-control-module-bcm-body-verification-test) and perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. No Repair is complete. The problem may have been caused by a loose or corroded terminal. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(/dodge/charger/vi-2010-2014/remont/communication-devices/#body-control-module-bcm-body-verification-test) and perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST.
  1. CHECK FOR ANY OF THE FOLLOWING ACTIVE DTCS With the scan tool, read all active DTCs from all modules. Record all communication and low system voltage DTCs. Does the scan tool display any active DTCs to the conditions listed above? Yes Diagnose and repair the DTC. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(/dodge/charger/vi-2010-2014/remont/communication-devices/#body-control-module-bcm-body-verification-test) and perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. No Go To 2 .
  2. CHECK FOR ACTIVE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) With the scan tool, read the active DTCs. Erase the DTCs. Turn the ignition off, wait 10 seconds, then turn the ignition on. With the scan tool, read the active DTCs. Does the scan tool display this DTC as active? Yes Go To 3 . No If the DTC is stored, check for an intermittent condition.   3. CHECK THE (W518) FRONT AIRBAG STATUS SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND Turn the ignition off. Disconnect the VSIM C2 harness connector. Measure the resistance of the (W518) Front Airbag Status Signal circuit between ground and the VSIM C2 harness connector. Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms? Yes If the vehicle is equipped with a side airbag, Go To 4 Otherwise, Go To 5 . No Go To 7 .
  4. CHECK THE (W517) SIDE AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT NOTIFICATION OUTPUT CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND Turn the ignition off. Disconnect the VSIM C2 harness connector. Measure the resistance of the (W517) Side Airbag Deployment Notification Output circuit between ground and the VSIM C2 harness connector. Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms? Yes Go To 7 . No Go To 6 .
  5. ISOLATE THE SHORT TO GROUND IN THE (W518) FRONT AIRBAG STATUS SIGNAL CIRCUIT Turn the ignition off. Disconnect the VSIM 24 way harness connector (aftermarket light/siren controller side). Measure the resistance of the (W518) Front Airbag Status Signal circuit between ground and the VSIM C2 harness connector. Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms? Yes Repair the (W518) Front Airbag Status Signal circuit for a short to ground. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(/dodge/charger/vi-2010-2014/remont/communication-devices/#body-control-module-bcm-body-verification-test) and perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. No Refer to «DIAGNOSTIC CODE INDEX»(ref-481512-S09510354572012062200000) for the aftermarket light/siren controller, and repair or replace the aftermarket light siren controller in accordance with the manufacturer's Service Information. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(/dodge/charger/vi-2010-2014/remont/communication-devices/#body-control-module-bcm-body-verification-test) and perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST.
  6. ISOLATE THE SHORT TO GROUND IN THE (W517) SIDE AIRBAG STATUS SIGNAL CIRCUIT Turn the ignition off. Disconnect the VSIM 24 way harness connector (aftermarket light/siren controller side). Measure the resistance of the (W517) Side Airbag Status Signal circuit between ground and the VSIM C2 harness connector. Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms? Yes Repair the (W517) Side Airbag Status Signal circuit for a short to ground. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(/dodge/charger/vi-2010-2014/remont/communication-devices/#body-control-module-bcm-body-verification-test) and perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. No Refer to «DIAGNOSTIC CODE INDEX»(ref-481512-S09510354572012062200000) for the aftermarket light/siren controller, and repair or replace the aftermarket light siren controller in accordance with the manufacturer's Service Information. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(/dodge/charger/vi-2010-2014/remont/communication-devices/#body-control-module-bcm-body-verification-test) and perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST.
  7. CHECK THE VSIM Turn the ignition off. Disconnect all VSIM and aftermarket light/siren controller harness connectors. Check for damaged or corroded pins, pinched wires, or damaged connectors, and repair any obvious problems. Connect all VSIM and aftermarket light/siren controller harness connectors. Turn the ignition on. With the scan tool monitor active codes as you work through the following step. Wiggle the wiring harness and connectors of the VSIM and aftermarket light/siren controller. If only stored codes return continue the test until the problem area has been isolated, and repair any obvious problems. Is this code still displayed? Yes Replace the VSIM in accordance with the Service Information. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(/dodge/charger/vi-2010-2014/remont/communication-devices/#body-control-module-bcm-body-verification-test) and perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. No Repair is complete. The problem may have been caused by a loose or corroded terminal.

  3. CHECK THE (W518) FRONT AIRBAG STATUS SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE Turn the ignition off. Disconnect the VSIM C2 harness connector. Turn the ignition on. Measure the voltage of the (W518) Front Airbag Status Signal circuit between ground and the VSIM C2 harness connector. Is there any voltage present? Yes Go To 5 . No If equipped with a side airbag, Go To 4 Otherwise, Go To 8 .
  4. CHECK THE (W517) SIDE AIRBAG STATUS SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE Turn the ignition off. Disconnect the VSIM C2 harness connector. Turn the ignition on. Measure the voltage of the (W517) Side Airbag Status Signal circuit between ground and the VSIM C2 harness connector. Is there any voltage present? Yes Go To 6 . No Go To 7 .
  5. ISOLATE THE SHORT TO VOLTAGE IN THE (W518) FRONT AIRBAG STATUS SIGNAL CIRCUIT Turn the ignition off. Disconnect the VSIM 24 way harness connector (aftermarket light/siren controller side). Turn the ignition on. Measure the voltage of the (W518) Front Airbag Status Signal circuit between ground and the VSIM C2 harness connector. Is there any voltage present? Yes Repair the (W518) Front Airbag Status Signal circuit for a short to power. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(/dodge/charger/vi-2010-2014/remont/communication-devices/#body-control-module-bcm-body-verification-test) and perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. No Refer to «DIAGNOSTIC CODE INDEX»(ref-481512-S09510354572012062200000) for the aftermarket light/siren controller, and repair or replace the aftermarket light siren controller in accordance with the manufacturer's Service Information. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(/dodge/charger/vi-2010-2014/remont/communication-devices/#body-control-module-bcm-body-verification-test) and perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST.
  6. ISOLATE THE SHORT TO VOLTAGE IN THE (W517) SIDE AIRBAG STATUS SIGNAL CIRCUIT Turn the ignition off. Disconnect the VSIM 24 way harness connector (aftermarket light/siren controller side). Turn the ignition on. Measure the voltage of the (W517) Side Airbag Status Signal circuit between ground and the VSIM C2 harness connector. Is there any voltage present? Yes Repair the (W517) Side Airbag Deployment Notification Output circuit for a short to voltage. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(/dodge/charger/vi-2010-2014/remont/communication-devices/#body-control-module-bcm-body-verification-test) and perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. No Refer to «DIAGNOSTIC CODE INDEX»(ref-481512-S09510354572012062200000) for the aftermarket light/siren controller, and repair or replace the aftermarket light siren controller in accordance with the manufacturer's Service Information. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(/dodge/charger/vi-2010-2014/remont/communication-devices/#body-control-module-bcm-body-verification-test) and perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST.
  7. CHECK THE (W517) SIDE AIRBAG STATUS SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN Turn the ignition off. Disconnect the VSIM 24 way harness connector (aftermarket light/siren controller side). Measure the resistance of the (W517) Side Airbag Status Signal circuit between the VSIM 24 way and the VSIM C2 harness connectors. Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms? Yes Go To 9 . No Repair the (W517) Side Airbag Status Signal circuit for an open or high resistance. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(/dodge/charger/vi-2010-2014/remont/communication-devices/#body-control-module-bcm-body-verification-test) and perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST.
  8. CHECK THE (W518) FRONT AIRBAG STATUS SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN Turn the ignition off. Disconnect the VSIM 24 way harness connector (aftermarket light/siren controller side). Measure the resistance of the (W518) Front Airbag Status Signal circuit between the VSIM 24 way and the VSIM C2 harness connectors. Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms? Yes Go To 9 . No Repair the (W518) Front Airbag Status Signal circuit for an open or high resistance. Refer to «STANDARD PROCEDURE»(/dodge/charger/vi-2010-2014/remont/communication-devices/#body-control-module-bcm-body-verification-test) and perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST.
  9. CHECK THE VSIM Turn the ignition off. Disconnect all VSIM and aftermarket light/siren controller harness connectors. Check for damaged or corroded pins, pinched wires, or damaged connectors, and repair any obvious problems. Connect all VSIM and aftermarket light/siren controller harness connectors. Yes Refer to «DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING»(ref-481425-S13286672292012062200000) and perform the NO RESPONSE FROM BCM (BODY CONTROL MODULE) diagnostic procedure. No Refer to «DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING»(ref-481425-S13286672292012062200000) and perform the Stored Lost Communication DTCs diagnostic procedure.
  1. VERIFY DTC IS ACTIVE Turn the ignition on. With the scan tool, read the active DTCs. Does the scan tool display; U0147-LOST COMMUNICATION WITH TELEMATICS GATEWAY as active? Yes Refer to «DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING»(ref-481480-S01215596722012062200000) and perform the U0147-Lost Communication with Telematics Gateway diagnostic procedure. No Refer to «DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING»(ref-481425-S13286672292012062200000) and perform the Stored Lost Communication DTCs diagnostic procedure.
  1. VERIFY DTC IS ACTIVE NOTE: Make sure the battery is fully charged before proceeding. Turn the ignition on. With the scan tool, read the active DTCs. Does the scan tool display: U0155-LOST COMMUNICATION WITH CLUSTER/CCN? Yes Refer to «DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING»(ref-481498-S17220671852012062200000) and perform the U0155-Lost Communication with Cluster/CCN diagnostic procedure. No Refer to «DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING»(ref-481425-S13286672292012062200000) and perform the Stored Lost Communication DTCs diagnostic procedure.
  1. VERIFY DTC IS ACTIVE Turn the ignition on. With the scan tool, read the active DTCs. Does the scan tool display; U0164-LOST COMMUNICATION WITH HVAC CONTROL MODULE as Active? Yes Refer to «DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING»(ref-481507-S01125575772012062200000) and perform the U0164-Lost Communication with HVAC Control Module. No Refer to «DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING»(ref-481425-S13286672292012062200000) and perform the Stored Lost Communication DTCs diagnostic procedure.
  1. VERIFY DTC IS ACTIVE Turn the ignition on. With the scan tool, read the active DTCs. Does the scan tool display; U0199-LOST COMMUNICATION WITH DRIVER DOOR MODULE as active?   1. VERIFY DTC IS ACTIVE Turn the ignition on. With the scan tool, read the active DTCs. Does the scan tool display; U0200-LOST COMMUNICATION WITH PASSENGER DOOR MODULE as active? Yes Refer to «DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING»(ref-481480-S01215596722012062200000) and perform the U0200-Lost Communication with Passenger Door Module diagnostic procedure.   1. VERIFY DTC IS ACTIVE Turn the ignition on. With the scan tool, read the active DTCs. Does the scan tool display; U0208-LOST COMMUNICATION WITH HEATED SEAT CONTROL MODULE as active? Yes Refer to «DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING»(ref-481480-S01215596722012062200000) and perform the U0208-Lost Communication with Heated Seat Control Module diagnostic procedure.   1. VERIFY DTC IS ACTIVE Turn the ignition on. With the scan tool, read the active DTCs. Does the scan tool display: U0209-LOST COMMUNICATION WITH MEMORY SEAT CONTROL MODULE as active? Yes Refer to «DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING»(ref-481480-S01215596722012062200000) and perform the U0209-LOST COMMUNICATION WITH MEMORY SEAT CONTROL MODULE diagnostic procedure.
