DESCRIPTION & OPERATION
| WARNING | Vehicle is equipped with air bag supplemental restraint system. Before attempting ANY repairs involving steering column, instrument panel or related components, see SERVICE PRECAUTIONS and DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM in appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article. |
Note. Chrysler refers to Body Control Module (BCM) as high-line Central Timer Module (CTM) and Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) control module as Controller Anti-Lock Brake (CAB).
Central Timer Module (CTM) computer system consists of a combination of modules that communicate over Chrysler Collision Detection (CCD) bus system. Information related to operation of vehicle components and circuits are relayed to appropriate system module(s) through CCD bus, reducing complexity of vehicle wiring and size of wiring harness. Body control module Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) are accessed through 16-pin Data Link Connector (DLC), using Chrysler's Diagnostic Readout Box (DRBIII®) scan tool or generic scan tool. DLC is located on left side of steering column, above brake pedal.
