Presentation: driver information Citroen Jumpy II

Driver information ~416 words

Introduction

The presentation of the driver information uses the following supports

  • Instrument panel (instruments, liquid crystal display, warning lamps)
  • Multifunction screen (alerts, information, etc)
  • Air conditioning panel
  • Buzzer incorporated in the switch module under the steering wheel
  • Electroluminescent diode on button
  • Radio speakers for parking assistance (according to equipment)
  • Seat belt not fastened warning lamps

Information is managed as a function of priorities and type of support

Driver information can be broadcast simultaneously on more than just one information support

Example: STOP + coolant temperature alert warning lamps on: triggers two types of warning, a warning on the multifunction display and a sound emitted by the switch buzzer under the steering wheel

The information supports on the instrument panel present the following components

  • The alert and information warning lamps
  • A liquid crystal display including a maintenance indicator, an oil level indicator and odometers, cruise control, speed limiter, water in diesel fuel detection, pre-heating indicator
  • The dials: speedometer, rev counter, coolant temperature, fuel level
  • Adjustment buttons (brightness, partial odometer and maintenance zero reset)

The instrument panel communicates with the other ECUs of the COMFORT CAN and has autodiagnostic functions

The technician can carry out the following operations on the instrument panel; using a diagnostic tool

  • Reading of the data
  • Writing of the data
  • Actuator tests and output commands
  • Setting certain types of information to zero

(1) instrument panel (instruments, liquid crystal display, warning lamps)

(2) remote display (according to equipment)

(3) multifunction screen (alerts, information, etc)

(4) air conditioning panel

(5) buzzer incorporated in the switch module under the steering wheel

Alert priority levels

The management of the presentation of the alerts is defined by levels of priority regardless of the information support (*)

The priority levels are managed by the BSI1, permitting a classification between the different types of information dealt with by the 2 following supports

  • The multifunction display
  • The audible warning integrated in the switching module under the steering wheel

Note(*) except specific cases where windows are displayed on the multifunction screen

priority numberassociated sounddescription of the priority
P0yesprompting message due to an emergency situation requiring immediate driver intervention
P1yesserious alert due to a vehicle malfunction necessitating an immediate stop
example: engine oil pressure alert
P2no OKchange of status of a function caused by the vehicle
example: ESP in adjustment
P3yesserious alert requiring immediate driver intervention
example: handbrake detection
P4no OKchange of status of a function triggered by the driver
example: modification of the suspension mode
P5yesalert requiring driver intervention
example: seat belt not fastened detection
P6yespreventive alert
example: low fuel level, airbags fault alert
P7yesminor alert
example: screenwash low, bulb blown alert
P8no OKoperating mode message
example: door open at a speed below 10 km/h
P9yesalert due to an omission requiring driver intervention
example: dipped headlamps left on
P10yesalert due to an omission requiring driver intervention
example: key left in ignition
P11no OKinformation on the number of rear seat belts fastened

An alert of a higher level interrupts an alert of a lower level

An alert of a lower level is taken into account when the alert of a higher level has completed its current cycle

Alerts on the same level of priority appear consecutively

NoteThe alerts appear in ascending order of priority number (from P0 to P11)
