Foreword
The audio system consists of the following components
- An RD4 audio system installed in the centre of the fascia capping
- An AM/FM radio aerial installed on the roof
- Speakers located in the passenger compartment
- An audio control at the steering wheel
The vehicle can be equipped with the following components
- Compact disc changer
- Bluetooth hands-free kit
Radio functions (RD4)
- To receive audible radio broadcast transmissions in amplitude and frequency modulation (AM and FM)
- To play a compact disc via the integrated compact disc player (single CD)
- To manage two stereophonic audio inputs located at the rear of the unit (one analogue input and one digital input)
- To manage four stereophonic audio outputs (power: 4 X 15 W RMS)
- To diagnose its own operation
Functions of the RD4 audio system via the comfort CAN
- To control a compact disc changer
- To control the stereophonic audio outputs, superimposed over an audio source (if necessary), for the parking assistance function
- To be controlled by the audio control at the steering wheel
- To display information on the remote multifunction screen
The information relating to the RD4 audio system is displayed on the instrument panel's type A+ or type C- multifunction screen

Radio functions
The Audio RD4 audio system has the following main radio functions
RDS (Radio Data System)
The RDS function (on the FM waveband) enables the user to continue listening to the same station regardless of the frequency used by the station in the current location; The radio continuously searches for the transmitter which transmits the same programme with the best reception
REG (REGion)
When they are organised in a network, some stations transmit regional programmes in the different regions which they serve; the regional tracking mode REG enables the user to choose to listen to the same programme
TA (Traffic Announce)
The TA function allows the user to receive traffic information
This function automatically and temporarily switches to an FM station which is broadcasting this information (this station should manage the TA)
This function is operational even while the user is listening to a source other than the radio (CD, CDC, navigation, etc.)
PTY (Program TYpe)
The PTY function enables the user to give priority to a type of programme selected from a list of 15 available programme types (the radio automatically searches for stations which correspond to the programme selected)

Radio-text
In tuner mode, the audio system searches for information (advertisement, title of a song and artist, etc) transmitted by the radio station and displays it on the multifunction screen
CD text
In CD player mode, the audio system searches for specific recorded information on the CD (the song, the artist, the title, etc.) and displays it on the multifunction screen

Radio antenna
The aerial system is the primary component of a radio reception system
The aerial system converts a radiated electromagnetic wave into an electrical and magnetic transverse wave guided by a radio aerial cable to the radio tuner
An aerial system is divided into the following components
- A wave collector suited to the type of signals to be received
- A connection cable intended to guarantee the passage of the signals between the wave collector and the aerial adaptor
- An aerial adaptor which transmits the signals received by the wave collector to the audio system cable
The AM/FM aerial permits reception of the audible radio broadcast transmissions in amplitude modulation and frequency modulation inside the vehicle
The AM/FM wave collector is located on the roof of the vehicle
The supply is provided via the core of the coaxial cable
Compact disc changer

The 5 CD changer is located in the centre of the fascia, below the audio system
The CD changer has 5 buttons on its front panel; each of these buttons corresponds to one of the 5 CD slots
The buttons are lit by dual colour indicator lamps (Green / orange)
The CD changer permits the playing of writeable CDs (CD-R) and rewriteable CDs CD-RW, provided they contain audio tracks (the MP3 format is not recognised by the changer)
The switch to play mode is obtained by changing the source to the CD changer from the audio system control panel or the audio control at the steering wheel
Bluetooth hands-free kit
Foreword
The BLUETOOTH hands-free kit (KML) enables a driver to use his mobile telephone while maintaining maximum vigilance
Composition of the bluetooth hands-free kit system
- "E-BOX BLUETOOTH" unit connected to the Comfort CAN
- Microphone installed on the interior lamp
- Radio control under the steering wheel
The BLUETOOTH hands-free kit system is connected to the instrument panel's multifunction screen; the information is displayed on the type C- multifunction screen
Access to the basic telephone functions is by means of the radio controls and the audio control at the steering wheel
The conversation is retransmitted in full-duplex on the vehicle's audio system (radio, speakers, microphone)
The bluetooth hands-free kit permits the following functions
- Choose which telephone is connected to the hands-free kit (matching)
- Receive or make up to 2 telephone calls
- Follow the stages of dialling, receiving a call
- View the duration of communication
- Accept or refuse a call
- Scroll through the contents of the telephone's directories
- Make a call using the telephone's voice command
- Make a call by means of the hands-free kit voice dialling
The "Voice Dialling" function is activated and deactivated by pressing the button located at the end of the lights switch on the switch module at the steering wheel
The commands which are recognised by the voice dialling are the following
- "Call": make the call
- "CHANGE": delete the last digit recognised or delete all of the digits
The hands-free kit voice recognition dialling permits use of the digits (0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9) as well as of the special characters (+, #, *)

- "A" main menu (access to the telephone function)
- "B" example of display with matched telephone
- "g" status of the network
- "h" name of the operator
- "j" name of the mobile (entered by the user)
- "k" telephone battery charge status
- "l" divert mode activated
- "m" presence of a message on the voice mail
- "n" presence of an SMS message
- "p" presence of the change of telephone operator in relation to the country considered service (roaming service)
NoteCertain functions depend on the telephone connected to the hands-free kit
