Check with the engine cold

Preliminary operations

Remove the style cover

Disconnect

• The battery negative terminal
• The engine ecu

Remove

• The right-hand bracket of the style cover
• The diesel injectors (see the relevant operation)

Method of checking

Fit the tool [2]to cylinder N° 1

Fit the retaining clamp (1) tighten to 3 ± 0,3 daN.m

Connect the tool [1]to the tool [2]

Reconnect the battery negative terminal

Operate the starter motor for 10 seconds (engine ECU disconnected)

The figure for the pressure in the cylinder must be 30 ± 5 bars

Remove tools [1] and [2]

Apply the same procedure for cylinders 2, 3 and 4

Disconnect the battery negative terminal

Additional operations

Refit

• The diesel injectors (see the relevant operation)
• The right-hand bracket of the style cover

Reconnect the engine ECU

Position the styling cover

Reconnect the battery negative terminal
