Circuit/System Verification

  1. Ignition ON, clear the DTC. Observe the scan tool BCM Stop Lamp Relay Command parameter while pressing and releasing the brake pedal. The parameter should change between ON and OFF. If the parameter does not change between the specified values, refer to «Stop Lamps Malfunction»(ref-364469-S03881937552010063000000) .
  2. Press the brake pedal, the vehicle operator should be able to move the shifter out of the PARK position.

Repair Procedures

Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification after completing the diagnostic procedure.

Symptoms - Automatic Transmission Shift Lock Control

IMPORTANTThe following steps must be completed before using the symptom tables.
  1. Perform the «Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle»(ref-364486-S08087544882010063000000) before using the Symptom Tables in order to verify that all of the following are true: There are no DTCs set. The control modules can communicate via the serial data link.
  2. Review the system operation in order to familiarize yourself with the system functions. Refer to «Automatic Transmission Shift Lock Control Description and Operation»(ref-364551-S12371408032010063000000) .

Intermittent

Faulty electrical connections or wiring may be the cause of intermittent conditions. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections
