Data Communication System: Removal & Installation Cadillac STS I facelift

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the instrument panel (I/P) compartment. Refer to «Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement»(ref-338119-S33514974252009081700000) .
  2. Remove the screws securing the body control module to the module bracket.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connectors.

Installation Procedure

  1. Connect the electrical connectors.
  2. Install the module to the bracket.
  3. Install the screws that secure the module to the bracket and tighten to 2 N.m (18 lb in).
  4. Install the I/P compartment. Refer to «Instrument Panel Compartment Replacement»(ref-338119-S33514974252009081700000) .
  5. Reprogram the module. Refer to «Control Module References»(ref-338152-S12253781062009081700000) .
  1. Remove the rear upper compartment trim. Refer to «Rear Compartment Trim Panel Replacement»(ref-338115-S24701225692009081700000) .
  2. Release the tabs securing the rear integration module (2) to the module bracket.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connectors.
  1. Connect the electrical connectors.
  2. Install the module (2) to the bracket.
  3. Install the rear upper compartment trim. Refer to «Rear Compartment Trim Panel Replacement»(ref-338115-S24701225692009081700000) .
  4. Reprogram the module. Refer to «Control Module References»(ref-338152-S12253781062009081700000) .
  1. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to «Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement»(ref-338115-S36471182862009081700000) or «Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement»(ref-338115-S00640571082009081700000) .
  2. Remove the door control module (1) by releasing the retainer tabs (2).
  3. Disconnect the electrical connectors (1) from the control module (2).
  1. Connect the electrical connectors (1) to the control module (2).
  2. Snap the door module (1) onto the mounting studs (2).
  3. Install the door trim panel. Refer to «Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement»(ref-338115-S36471182862009081700000) or «Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement»(ref-338115-S00640571082009081700000) .
  4. Refer to «Control Module References»(ref-338152-S12253781062009081700000) for programming and setup information.
